  • The present study was aimed at understanding the socio-economic conditions and adoption of sheep management practices in Karauli district of Rajasthan, India as it serves as a benchmark for evolving meaningful extension strategies and other policy interventions. The scenario in Karauli district revealed that sheep production is in the hands of traditional farmers; rearing under the extensive system of management. Most of the farmers had a poor socio-economic background with illiteracy. Majority is rearing a hairy coated dual purpose breed with small flock sizes ranging from 25 to 50 heads.

  • To sustain dairy farming as a rural livelihood and to meet the growing demand of milk, necessitates dissemination of technologies/innovations for improving the farm’s output. There is also a need to understand how far existing innovations are diffused to the farmers and factors influencing diffusion and/or rejection. Based on the highest cattle population and best rank in adoption of recommended dairy innovations three districts namely Visakhapatnam, Krishna and Chittoor were selected from each region of Andhra Pradesh respectively.

  • This study was conducted in Karwi block of Chitrakoot district by conducting personal interview with 100 respondents which were selected through random sampling technique. There were 65 percent respondents found in middle age group and observed to be literate (67%), belonging to backward caste (70%), residing in nuclear families (63%). The maximum respondents (63 %) were having small farmers land holding and agriculture was observed as main occupations (88%). The 55 per cent respondents were found such who had family annual income Rs. 26001-79000.

  • Dairy farming in India plays a vital role in livelihood security of the dairy farmers. The factors which are major hurdles in increasing farmers income are low productivity of indigenous breeds, inadequate knowledge about balanced feeding and low conception rate through artificial insemination. The present study was conducted in Solapur district of Maharashtra state with the objective of correlational analysis of socio-demographic profile of dairy farmers with knowledge and adoption of animal husbandry practices. Data were randomly collected from a total of 200 dairy farmers from 10 villages.

  • Analytical and Descriptive research design was used for study purposively selected districts of Uttarakhand. Total 200 farmers selected by using probability proportionate to size method. Age, sex, education, family composition, land holding, farming experience, occupation, social participation, socio economic status, extension agency contact, mass media utilization, information seeking behavior, personal localiteness, personal cosmopoliteness, scientific orientation, innovativeness and economic motivation were independent variable.

  • The present study was conducted with an objective to analyses the socio-personal profile of farmers practicing integrated-fish-farming of Manipur. This study was conducted on 300 farmers in 15 villages viz. Takcham, Tentha, Athokpam, Lameidong, Wabagai, Hiyanglam, Khabi Bomdiar, Wangoi, Uchiwa, Leimapokpam, Irengbam, Maibam, Naharup, Heyanglam, and Top. These 15 villages were selected from 5 districts viz. Thoubal, Kakching, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Imphal East district, respectively. It was aimed to analyses the Socio-personal profile of the farmers practicing the integrated-fishfarming.

  • The study was conducted in Latur district of Marathwada region. Population for the study comprised of respondents who were subscriber of Kisan Mobile Advisory Service in Latur district. From latur district Latur, Ausa and Renapur tahsils were selected purposively because more number of farmers in these tahsils were using KMAS. Proportionate sampling method used in selection of respondents, thus total sample size was one hundred and twenty respondents which who are subscribers of KMAS. One shot case study method of ex-postfacto research design was adopted for this study.

  • Farm innovators plays a vital role in innovation development and they supplement formal research, since these innovators develop cost effective, eco-friendly and easy to adopt technologies. Farmers develop the appropriate technologies/innovations to ease their work and which are suitable for their local conditions. A study was conducted to study constraints faced by the farm innovators. The study has been conducted during the year 2016-17 in seven districts of southern Karnataka. Among these districts, 36 farm innovators were identified for the study.
