In ebook "Biohybrid systems: Nerves, interfaces, and machines" the discipline of neurodesign is a highly interdisciplinary one, while at the same time in the process of maturing towards real-life applications. The breakthrough about to be achieved is to close the loop in communication between neural systems and electronic and mechatronic systems and actually let the nervous system adapt to the feedback from the man-made systems. To master this loop, scientists need a sound understanding of neurology, from the cellular to the systems scale, of man-made systems and how to connect the two.

To study the effect of inhibitor of differentiation 3 (ID3) on radiotherapy in patients with rectal cancer and to explore its primary mechanism. Methods Cell proliferation and clonogenic assays were used to study the relationship between ID3 and radiosensitivity. Co-immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence were performed to analyze the possible mechanism of ID3 in the radiosensitivity of colorectal cancer.

This paper presents a proposed low power, low noise capacitively-coupled chopper instrumentation amplifier (CCIA) using body control DC servo loop and low input capacitance applied for biomedical recording. A DC servo loop using body control (DSL-BC) is proposed to reduce the electrode offset and its noise contribution.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common histological subtype of primary lung cancer. To identify the biomarker of diagnosis for LUAD is of great significance. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) were previously revealed to exert vital efects in numerous cancers.

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) contributes to liver carcinogenesis via various epigenetic mechanisms. The newly defined epigenetics, epitranscriptomics regulation, has been reported to involve in multiple cancers including Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Our previous study found that HBx, HBV encodes X protein, mediated H3K4me3 modification in WDR5-dependent manner to involve in HBV infection and contribute to oncogene expression.

This paper presents the tri-rotor UAV dynamic modeling and divides it to the control loops under the condition that the response of the inner loop is faster than the response of the outer loop. From diagram of the control loops, attitude, velocity and position controllers have been synthesized based on feedback linearization and module optimization methods.

In this paper, we study the behavior of interlocked feedback loops. We find that interlocked positive feedback loops which are classified into two classes based on their dynamic and biological functions could significantly enhance reliability and provide flexible controllability of toggle switches.

The secretion of soluble factors enables communication between tumour cells and the surrounding microenvironment and plays an important role in oncogenesis. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is characterised by a highly reactive microenvironment, harbouring a variety of cell types, including S100A8/ S100A9-expressing monocytes.

Engineering of plants with a composition of lignocellulosic biomass that is more suitable for downstream processing is of high interest for next-generation biofuel production. Lignocellulosic biomass contains a high proportion of pentose residues, which are more difficult to convert into fuels than hexoses.

The circadian clock enables living organisms to anticipate recurring daily and seasonal fluctuations in their growth habitats and synchronize their biology to the environmental cycle. The plant circadian clock consists of multiple transcription-translation feedback loops that are entrained by environmental signals, such as light and temperature.
