The results show that the solid yield reaches 92.4 %, the final product is a single phase with a structure similar to the one of Ca(H2PO4)2.H2O and contains parallelogram-like crystals with a length of about 20 - 50 μm, a width of 20 - 30 μm, and a thickness of a few microns. The formation of monocalcium phosphate has been confirmed by the XRD data and chemical analysis.

Aspergillus oryzae, a safe filamentous fungus, is widely used in food and enzyme production. In this study, we examined a cultivation model using rice husks as carrier to assess the capacity of recombinant protein production in A. oryzae. The model was first tested with the A. oryzae strain expressing the DsRed reporter gene. The expression of DsRed was easily detected by the pink color of the fungal mycelium on culture media and under a fluorescence microscope. The model was then evaluated with the phyA gene encoding a phytase from the fungus Aspergillus fumigatus.

Animal Nutrition constitutes 60-65% of total cost in dairy enterprise. The objective to reduce the feeding costs needs emphasis on knowledge and utilization of latest feed technologies which can reduce the productivity gap. Extension plays an important role in diffusion of any such technology and local para-veterinary professionals are one of the key agents for this. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University (GADVASU) Ludhiana offers two year diploma course in Veterinary pharmacy at Veterinary Polytechnic College, Kaljharani, Bathinda (Punjab).

Spirulina is noticed for great applications on food supplements, animal feeds, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, biofuel, fertilizer, etc. Spirulina cultures in wastewaters could enhance the feasibility of commodities due to its ability to reduce the cost of biomass production and remove pollutants in wastewaters. This study investigates the effects of wastewater pretreatment using various aeration periods (i.e. from 3 to 7 days), the supplement of bicarbonate and N:P ratios on the growth of Spirulina sp. to produce protein-rich biomass. The work showed that Spirulina sp.

Enzyme industrial wastes viz. multiple effect evaporator salts, primary sludge, filter press feed were evaluated for their phytotoxic effects under laboratory conditions to understand their potential to use as a nutrient medium for supporting plant growth. It was found that the industrial waste-water extract recorded lower contents of essential nutrients and the presence of heavy metals viz. Ni and Cd. Germination studies revealed the inhibitory effects of industrial waste-water extracts on percentage and rate of seed germination and length of plumule and radicle.

The cassava starch production in India is mainly concentrated in small to medium scale factories, which generates 30,000 to 40,000 liters of effluent per tonne of sago produced. The effluent from these industries is acidic and highly organic in nature having COD of 5000 to 7000 mg/l during the season and 1000 to 5000 during the off-season. These effluents pose a serious threat to the environment and quality of life in the both rural and cities.

Synthesis and characterization of feed grade monocalcium phosphate, Ca(h2po4)2·H2O in aqueous medium
The feed grade monocalcium phosphate monohydrate, Ca(H2PO4)2·H2O was prepared by the reaction of CaCO3 and H3PO4 at elevated temperature in aqueous solution. The obtained precipitates were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermal analysis (TG, DTA) techniques. The chemical composition of final products was evaluated by analysing the phosphorus and calcium content in the samples.
