The magnetic properties of core/shell nanoparticles (NPs) depend on the various parameters, including the magnetic interactions, but these effects have not been well studied. Here, we systematically investigated the structure and magnetic properties of Fe3O4@CoFe2O4 core/shell NPs. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) confirmed the formation of Fe3O4@CoFe2O4 core/shell NPs.

In this work, we have shown that the addition of Zn to nanocrystalline nickel ferrite enhanced its H2 sensing properties, such as sensitivity, response time, and stability. This is explained due to the formation of defects and oxygen vacancies in the crystal structure due to the substitution of Zn ions in place of Ni ions. These defects generated more active sites for H2 gas to interact with, resulting in improved sensing performance.

In this work, we present the recent study in the microwave absorption performances of the Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4@polyaniline (CNF@PANI). This material has been synthesized by polymerization and hydrothermal reaction process. The PANI fiber structure with the whole cover of CNF nanoparticles could establish the improvement of microwave absorption performances.

A Li-CuFe2O4 thin film has a well-defined nanocrystalline structure with a crystallite size of ~17 nm. In this work, we report a simple method to prepare the Fe-Ni alloy nanoparticles by reducing NiFe2O4 spinel ferrite nanoparticles at 600 °C in a hydrogen atmosphere. Structural analyses of the Fe-Ni alloy by XRD diffraction showed that the alloy sample is a complete single phase after the deoxidizing time of 12 hours.

In this paper, synthesis of tetrakis(carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) coated cadmium ferrite (CdFe 2 O4) nanoparticles by using L-lysine as an anchor is reported for the first time. The ferrimagnetic CdFe 2 O4 nanoparticles were prepared via the facile self-assembly method of reflux followed by a heating treatment. The obtained magnetic nanoparticles were coated with TCPP in the presence of the amino acid L-lysine by sonication in ethanol and then refluxing for 12 h. The structural characteristics of the products were determined using FT-IR and XRD pattern.

A series of polyoxometalate-based magnetic nanoparticles were developed as novel carriers for anticancer drugs. Characterization of the nanoparticles was done by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), wavelength dispersive X-ray (WDX), and laser particle size analyzer. Nickel ferrite magnetic nanoparticles (NiFe2O4MNPs) were prepared via the autocombustion assisted solgel method. The efficient catalyst was investigated by FT-IR, XRD, ICP, SEM, and TEM techniques. A one-pot, three-component reaction is reported for the synthesis of substituted 4H -chromenes in the presence of NiFe2O4 MNPs as a reusable catalyst in a green solvent at 40◦C under clean, efficient, and mild conditions. Furthermore, selected products were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The single-crystal X-ray analysis of product 4u was also conclusively confirmed.

CuxMg1.xFe2O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by coprecipitation. The samples were calcined at 900 oC for 3 h and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that Cu0.5Mg0.5Fe2O4 had a single phase cubic spinel structure, while formation of secondary phase of Fe2O3 was observed in XRD patterns of CuFe2O4, MgFe2O4. The saturation magnetization (Ms) of Cu0.5Mg0.5Fe2O4 is in between the saturation magnetization values of CuFe2O4 and MgFe2O4 nanoparticles, CuFe2O4 is a ferromagnetic material, while MgFe2O4 and Cu0.5Mg0.5Fe2O4 show superparamagnetic behavior.

In this paper, a composite of reduced graphene oxide (RGO), manganese/zinc ferrite (Mn0.8Zn0.2Fe2O4 - MZF) nanoparticles, and porous polyaniline (PANI) was successfully synthesized to improve microwave absorption properties exclusively in X-band. The experimental results demonstrate that the synthesized ternary composite had RGO nanosheets decorated mostly with MZF nanoparticles, and porous PANI was uniformly coated onto the surface of RGO-MZF.
