The basic aim of this study was to compare the denitrification efficacy of 2,5-dichloroaniline, Ammonium Thiosulphate and their combination (1:1) with previous studies. Ammonium Thiosulphate was not used as a nitrification inhibitor in previous research. Our findings depict that there was significant variation among the chemicals, soil and levels in denitrification for early seedling growth of wheat.

Potassium contributes significantly to growth, development, yield, and quality of the crop plants. Application of unbalanced potassium fertilization leads to low productivity and quality of cereals and other crops. Hence, there is an urgent demand to find out the balanced source of potassium fertilizer through utilization of nutrient management approaches. In the current study, we applied farmyard manure (FYM) as an alternative source of potassium fertilization, combination of FYM and muriate of potash (MOP) to show their role on growth, development, yield.

Breeding of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars with improved adaptation to low-N fertilization has gained importance worldwide nowadays. The present investigation aimed to identify the best general combiners and parental combinations for recombination breeding under low nitrogen condition to improve the nitrogen use efficiency. Six parents and fifteen F1s were evaluated under 50 per cent nitrogen condition using randomized complete block design with three replications.

Seed treatment with gamma rays, EMS, NG and their combinations in two mungbean genotypes, BKG-1 and OUM 11-5, significantly reduced germination, seedling growth including fresh weight and dry weight, pollen fertility, seed fertility and survival at maturity in M1 over the parents. The biological damage in M1 generation showed a dose dependent linear relationship. NG in both single and combination treatments resulted in more pronounced biological damage than other treatments.
