The paper presents the analytical and experimental investigation to predict strength of concrete-filled glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) circular tubes reinforced internally with six GFRP bars (10mm nominal diameter) under axial load and four-point bending. The experimental studies included four GFRP bar-reinforced GFRP tube specimens with 134mm outer diameter and 536mm length, two concrete-filled GFRP cylinder tubes with height of 300mm.

The dependence of load-carrying capacity on span length of beams, which contained a combination of normal strength concrete (NC) - High-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (HPFRC), was investigated in this study. The used HPFRC contained 1.0 vol.% long hooked blended with 0.5% short smooth fibers. Two types of span length were designed as 300 mm and 450 mm while dimensions of beam sections were identical with depth × width of 150 × 150 mm2.

This research deals with the influences of macro, meso and micro steel-smooth fibers on tensile and compressive properties of strain-hardening fiber-reinforced concretes (SFCs). The different sizes, indicated by length/diameter ratio, of steel-smooth fiber added in plain matrix (Pl) were as follows: 30/0.3 for the macro (Ma), 19/0.2 for the meso (Me) and 13/0.2 for the micro fiber (Mi). All SFCs were used the same fiber volume fraction of 1.5%.

The analysis of variance for female and male parents exhibited (Table 1) significant difference for all the traits. The estimates of mean sum of squares due to Lines showed significant differences for all the traits except fruit rind thickness, fruit flesh thickness, fruit girth, total soluble solids (TSS) and total crude fiber content and in the male parents apart from these traits node to first female flower, sex ratio, vine length also indicating the presence of sufficient variability among the parents studied.

The shoots in vitro were transferred to half-strength MS supplemented with different concentrations of IAA, IBA and NAA to investigate root formation. The best rooting occurred at 0,5 mg/L NAA (7.91 roots/shoot; root length of 4.01 cm; 98.51% root formation). The plantlets with uniform growth were planted on different substrate: Eco clean soil, Coconut fiber, Fern fiber, 50% Rice husk in combination with 50% Eco clean soil for research the most suitable substrate.

To investigate the water-deficit tolerance, 3 cotton genotypes (Bunny Bt, Pratima and Anjali.) were grown under normal irrigation and water-deficit conditions. The present investigation was carried out during 2012-13 at ARS, Siruguppa with an objective of determine the extent of commercial Heterosis for fiber quality traits in F1 hybrids obtained by crossing 10 parents in half dialle fashion. Several hybrid combinations showed very good per se performance for all the traits under study and commercial Heterosis for 2.5% span length. These lines can sever as a potential donor for genetic improvement of cotton after further evaluation, fixation and selection.

The linear configuration single-mode Distributed Bragg Reflection (DBR) Erbium doped Fiber laser has been tested. The cavity length of the laser utilizing intracore Bragg reflectors, no longer than one centimetre and the grating bandwidth is below ∼ 0.2 nm. The 1.55-µm emission wavelength of the laser can be continously tuned within 2 nm.
