Based on the hypothesis that resistance to VSD varies in cocoa and that rootstocks can influence VSD resistance of scions through grafting, the present research aimed to assess the VSD-incidence on cocoa scions of Sulawesi local clones in the field after grafting onto rootstocks from cocoa resistant genotype trees, to evaluate the effect on VSD-incidence in the scions on various cocoa rootstocks and to study whether a clone with proved resistance to VSD will result in an equivalent resistance if it is used as a rootstock.

In Karnataka Mandya district is one of the important paddy growing area. Mono cropping, faulty cultivation practices with continuous submerged conditions are causing higher pest and disease incidence and leading to lower yield. In this context KrishiVigyana Kendra, Mandya demonstrated integrated pest and disease management practices in 30 farmer’s field. The objectives of the study were to minimize the use of chemical pesticides and to establish the use of eco-friendly management practices.

An experiment was designed to detect garlic bulb associated viruses through RTPCR and to evaluate the response of genotypes against viruses under field condition. The present study was conducted at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar during 2019-20 to study the incidence of bulbassociated Potyviruses in garlic through molecular diagnosis. In order to confirm the presence of virus in stored garlic, RT-PCR based assay was used. The suspected leaves of genotypes were tested for the virus.

The field experiment on screening of tomato lines for GBNV infection was carried out Horticultural College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Coimbatore. Totally 25 hybrids/varieties were screened in Rabi season during 2015. None of the varieties/hybrids screened were resistant or immune to GBNV during Rabi season. However, average disease incidence ranged from 7.55 to 25.25 percent indicating moderately resistant to highly susceptible.
