  • We study the dynamics of a double-well BEC system subjected to oscillating dissipation. The macroscopic model is described within the mean-field approximation while the noise effect due to large reservoir fluctuation has been averaged out to zero. We chose a simple dissipative memory kernel to produce a time-dependent oscillating dissipation. Our numerically calculated phase-space portraits and Lyapunov exponents show an enhanced route to chaos as one increases the driving dissipation amplitude.

  • Reliable marking systems are critical to the prospective field release of transgenic insect strains. This is to unambiguously distinguish released insects from wild insects in the field that are collected in field traps, and tissue-specific markers, such as those that are sperm-specific, have particular uses such as identifying wild females that have mated with released males.

  • Gamma-ray spectrometry is a well-established technique which enables to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of gamma-ray emitting radionuclides. In trapped charge dating, portable spectrometers can be used to acquire spectra in the field, allowing for the assessment of radionuclide concentrations and hence the determination of dose rates at the exact location where samples are collected for dating.

  • During the 2017 season we investigated the occurrence and biology of the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB), Halyomorpha halys, a new invasive insect pest in two commercial hazelnut orchards located in the Samegrelo Region, Republic of Georgia. The first stink bug adults from the overwintering generation appeared on sticky traps at the end of May, while all instar nymphs and adults were observed at the end of July and through August. The peak occurrence of adults and nymphs in the field was observed at 896– 1061 DD13.9.

  • Species of the genus Temelucha Förster, 1869 (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae, Cremastinae) in Iran are taxonomically overviewed. Sampling was done using Malaise traps and sweeping nets in natural grasslands, forests, orchards and field crops during 2013–2017. Fifteen species are recorded and reviewed, among them 5 species Temelucha albipennis (Zetterstedt, 1838), T. flavia Vas, 2016, T.ophthalmica (Holmgren, 1860), T. pseudocaudata Kolarov, 1982, and T. variipes (Szépligeti, 1899) are new records for the fauna of Iran. T. convergence Zardouei & Rakhshani sp. nov. is described and illustrated.

  • Field experiments were conducted during Kharif 2016 and 2017 to manage yellow vein mosaic virus in Okra with seven modules along with one control. The module consists of use of either seed treatment or yellow sticky trap singly or in combination with neem oil (bio-pesticide), one insect growth regulator and two new generation insecticides to manage the vector population of whitefly which transmit the disease.

  • Finite element method (FEM) is the most widely used approach in the simulation of micro-nano devices before actual fabrication. Using simulation software, 2D and 3D structures of the device are designed, meshed, and then simulated to optimize their parameters. In this work, we modeled and simulated the hydrodynamic trapping of micro-particle (μP) representing for single-cell in the microfluidic system. Besides, the interaction between μP and fluid, the effect of flow velocity, and the pressure field variation for increasing the trapping efficiency were investigated.

  • Evaluation of Sex Ph A field experiment was conducted in farmer’s field during the kharif season of 2014-15 under irrigated condition at Hittinahalli and Jumanal villages of Vijayapur district of Karnataka to evaluate the efficacy of different pheromone trap models as monitoring devices for brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis. The water trap (WOTA) model had significantly highest number of moths catches (seasonal mean of 3.08 moths/trap/five days ) with lowest mean shoot damage (5.48 %) and lowest mean fruit damage (15.03 %) resulting into highest yield (489 q ha-1 ).

  • Squeezing properties of the Hillery-type N-powered amplitude are investigated in the linear and nonlinear fan-state. For a given k, squeezing may appear to the even power N = 2k and the number of directions along which the Nth-powered amplitude is squeezed is exactly equal to N, in both linear (the light field) and nonlinear (the vibrational motion of the trapped ion) fan-states.
