In ebook "Polymer reinforcement" we consider this class of polymeric materials but do not consider polymers filled with liquids (e.g., water) and polymeric foams. Filling or reinforcement of polymers to enhance some properties of the material is one of the most important and popular methods of production of plastics, rubbers, coatings, adhesives, etc., which must possess the necessary mechanical and physical properties for any given practical application.

In this study, MCS is applied to compute the reliability of the nodes and the network under uncertain demand and roughness, and to determine how reliability is distributed among the various nodes of WDN, as well as assessing the reliability of the network as a series or parallel system. The effect of the resilience index on the nodal and network reliability is also assessed.

As Dam-IT has some effects on reducing seepage flow, therefore it is satisfactory to remediate earthen dam. The result ranges in broad spectrum because applying Dam-IT depends on sample soil layer and its mechanism in different inclined planes on upstream slope.

The Quaternary Zarloukh Bentonite –Tuff (ZBT) deposit occurs within the Hemrin South Mountain, northern Iraq. The ZBT deposit occurs as depression-filling exposed on the erosional surface of the siliciclastic Pliocene Muqdadiya Formation and covered by an overburden of recent sediments. The thickness of the studied industrial bentonite bed is ~80−100 cm, occurring at the bottom of these depressions, covered by ~3−4 m thick bedded volcanic tuff, which also contains many 10–12 cm thick bentonite layers along its bedding planes.

The process of domestic wastewater treatment has created a large amount of greenhouse gases (GHG). However, the measure for evaluating domestic wastewater treatment is only the treatment efficiency. Meanwhile, the factors to assess the possibility of generating GHG emissions have not been concerned. The Nhue–Day River basin plays an important role on the socio–economic development; therefore, one of the problem needs to be filled with concern is the level of GHG emissions from waste sources, including domestic wastewater.

The crop yield should be limited by the available nitrogen within the soil. Yoshida (1972) reported that nitrogen plays an important role in developing yield capacity and maintaining the photosynthetic activity during grain filling stage of the crop. Nitrogen application can improve the root system, so that water and nutrient absorption are facilitated.

The dTGA curves show three different steps of weight loss. This is due to the loss of water adsorbed, the elimination of the side chains, and the decomposition of the main chain. For LiClO4 filled PVA/MAA:EA, FTIR spectra showed disappearance of some bands with the change in their intensities as compared to pure PVA/MAA:EA film.

Impact of fly ash (FA) on germination and initial seedling growth performance of Acacia auriculiformis was studied. Growing media was prepared by mixing FA to forest soil (S) at five concentrations 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% (w/w). The experimental design was CRD with six treatments and three replications. Freshly collected seeds were treated with warm water followed by cold water and sown at 1.0-2.0 cm depth in germination trays filled with media of different treatments. Significant (P

The investigation was conducted on three mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] genotypes namely MH-421, MH-318 and Basanti genotypes to study their biochemical, and yield response in relation to terminal heat stress tolerance. The plants were raised in earthen pots (30 cm diameter) filled with 5.5 kg of dune sand (Typic Torrispamments) under screen house conditions. High temperature stress was given by manipulation of sowing dates i.e. normal sown (12th March, 2013) and late sown (29th March, 2013).

An experiment was carried out in the net house of department of Nematology, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat during rabi season 2017 to study the pathogenicity of Meloidogyne incognita on Coccinia indica. For that local variety of Ivy gourd cuttings were planted in 1kg capacity pot filled with sterilized soil. One-month old cuttings were inoculated with second stage juvenile of M. incognita in a logarithmic series of check, associated check, 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 juveniles (J2 ) per pot. The plants were watered regularly.

An attempt has been made to explore different types of algae from Panikhaiti area of Guwahati, Assam using Winogradsky column. In order to prepare Winogradsy column, soil and water samples were collected from different locations. A transparent, clear plastic bottle was taken and filled with 500g of soil and over layered with 500ml of water sample. The columns were enriched with different carbon and nitrogen supplements. They were covered with plastic sheets and few holes were punctured on them. These were incubated at room temperature (±28°C) in presence of sunlight.

Photosynthetic organs of the cereal spike (ear) provide assimilate for grain filling, but their response to drought is poorly understood. In this study, we characterized the drought response of individual organs of the barley spike (awn, lemma, and palea) and compared them with a vegetative organ (fifth leaf).

A screen house experiment was conducted to understand the influence of phosphorus and boron application on yield and enrichment of seed and straw of green gram. Five levels of phosphorus (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg kg-1 ) and 4 levels of boron (0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 mg kg-1 ) were applied in pots filled up with 4 kg light texture (sand) soil. Eight seeds of green gram were seeded in each pot and replicated thrice. The soil used in pot had pH 7.90, EC 0.17 dSm-1 , organic carbon 0.09%, DTPA Zn 0.36 mg kg-1 and hot water soluble B 0.5 mg kg-1 soil.

PsbO is a ubiquitous extrinsic protein of photosystem II required for providing proper environment for water splitting activity of photosystem II. Exposure of wheat to heat stress initially reduces the rate of photosynthesis by disintegrating the photosystem II, primarily by disruption of the oxygen evolving complex (OEC). Here, we identified and cloned putative PsbOgene of 1 kb from wheat cv. HD2329 using de novo assembly. Expression analysis showed higher expression of PsbO transcript in HD2985, as compared to HD2329 during pollination and grain-filling stages.
