  • This work uses the finite element method for the first time to simulate the dynamic response of nanoplates resting on a two-parameter elastic foundation under the flexoelectric effect. The calculation formulas are derived from the new type of the shear deformation theory, which is a simple shear deformation theory.

  • The paper "Dynamic response analysis of nanobeams resting on elastic foundations" uses the finite element method to study the dynamic response of nanobeams resting on an elastic foundation, taking into account the flexoelectricity effect. Timoshenko's first-order shear deformation theory is used to derive the formulations of the beam's forced vibration equation. The proposed theory and mechanical model are verified by comparing the numerical results of this work with those of the published data.

  • In the present report, a novel concept of frequency response function (FRF) is introduced for piezoelectric beam. First, a model of Timoshenko beam bonded with a piezoelectric layer is established and used for deriving the conventional frequency response function acknowledged as mechanical frequency response function (MERF). Then, the output charge produced in the piezoelectric layer is calculated from the MFRF and therefore obtained frequency-dependent function is called electrical frequency response function (EFRF) for the integrated beam.

  • In study "Determination of the optimal density contrast in the seafloor depth inversion from gravity anomalies using the Gravity-Geologic method on the central East Sea" the iteration method was applied to determine the optimal density contrast. Firstly, a density contrast is given. Then, the seafloor depths are calculated and compared with the shipborne depths. In the next step, change the density contrast and repeat the calculation. Finally, the optimal density contrast is determined corresponding to the smallest deviation between the gravity anomaly-derived depths and the shipborne depths.

  • Ebook "Digital simulation in electrochemistry (Fourth edition)" explains how the partial differential equations (pdes) in electroanalytical chemistry can be solved numerically. It guides the reader through the topic in a very didactic way, by first introducing and discussing the basic equations along with some model systems as test cases systematically. Then it outlines basic numerical approximations for derivatives and techniques for the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations. Finally, more complicated methods for approaching the pdes are derived.
