Climate aridization and increased anthropogenic pressure pose a severe threat to natural vegetation, including coastal plant communities. Those located in river basins of the desert zone of Central Asia are among the most vulnerable. Of the variety of ecosystems of the Ili-Balkhash region of Kazakhstan, forests dominated by a rare relict species Populus pruinosa Schrenk are of particular concern. This species occupies a very narrow ecological niche associated with river banks of the arid zone, which makes it very vulnerable to adverse natural and anthropogenic factors.

The field study was conducted to investigate weed flora diversity in rice crop during kharif season of 2020-21 in four development blocks viz. Naraini, Mahua, Badokhar Khurd and Baberu of Banda District in Uttar Pradesh State. This study identified and quantified the floristic composition of weeds in four different blocks. The number of monocot species recorded in the study was 13 (68 %), while the number of dicot species was 6 (32%). Out of 19 weed species 9 were annual...

Formation of the Caucasian floristic complexes remains as a main problem up today. After the status of the west region of the especially protected natural areas of Azerbaijan have been changed in the state level. For the first time there has been made the inventory of the flora of the Geygel National Park, EldarPinery, Garayazy, Korchay State Natural Reservations. At the result there have been determined 107 families, 467 genera and 1200 species.

Six different A. catechu bearing forest types including one plantation of A. catechu were selected for phytosociological studies in the Western Himalayan region of India. 72 sample plots of 0.1ha were selected. The plant genetic spectrum was made up of 75 genera with 86 species belonging to 43 families. Vegetational analysis revealed that in Dry Shiwalik Sal forest, the dominant tree species was Shorea robusta while in Northern Dry Mixed Deciduous forest, Dry Deciduous Scrub forest and Dry Riverine forest, the dominant tree species was Acacia catechu.

Treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) patients with androgen deprivation therapy puts prostate cancer in remission while treatment with already available drugs in market including abirater one help in controlling advanced prostate cancers for sometime though fail to respond, evolve resistance mechanisms, and undergo genetic deregulations later on with poor patient survival rate and no cure.

The purpose of this study is to quantify the floristic diversity in forests and coffee agroforests and to know the effects of different landholding sizes in Kodagu district of India's the Western Ghats. We collected the data on trees, shrubs and herbs from 50 sample plots of 0.16 ha. each and analyzed for various diversity parameters. Results revealed Shannon’s (H') was highest in coffee agroforests (3.60) compared to that of natural forest (3.32). Conversely, Simpson’s (D) values did not differ between the land-use types.

This paper will examine these concerns in relation to our floristic knowledge and needs in the region of SW Asia. Particular reference will be made to the experience gained from the Euro+Med PlantBase project for the preparation of an electronic plant-information system for Europe and the Mediterranean, with a single core list of accepted plant names and synonyms, based on consensus taxonomy agreed by a specialist network.

This investigation was carried out between 1994 and 1997 in order to contribute to knowledge on Artvin’s flora. The Artvin area reflects the eastern part of the Black Sea region’s rich floristic composition. The research area under review is in the Colchic province of the Euro-Siberian floristic area in the Holarctic region and is found in the A8 square according to grid system of Davis.

In this study, the ground layer species growing in altitudinal zones from sea level to high mountains were investigated according to their distribution, floristic composition and some habitat characteristics in the province of Trabzon in the north-eastern Black Sea region. Surveyed over four growing seasons (1994-1997), 285 taxa from 44 families were recorded in the De¤irmendere and Solakli Çayi river basins in Trabzon.

The plant diversity of southern peninsular India has recently been reduced to a great extent due to anthropogenic disturbance and environmental degradation. Disturbance was the major factor responsible for fragmentation of forest vegetation; as a result of this, there is a preponderance of small patches, some of them still preserved as sacred groves because of strong religious beliefs held by the indigenous people of this region.

Wild soybean (Glycine soja Sieb. & Zucc.), the progenitor of cultivated soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.), is widely distributed in the Sino-Japanese Floristic Region (SJFR). Therefore, it is an excellent model organism to study the effect of Quaternary climatic changes on the distribution and migration of plant taxa in the SJFR.
