Excessive salt consumption has been found to cause many negative effects on human health. To date, many researches have been conducted to reduce the sodium content of the diet. This study focused on the comparison of saltiness intensity and other parameters in timeintensity curves of four commercial grain salts in four regions of Viet Nam (Bac Lieu, Thanh Hoa, Sa Huynh, Vung Tau), one flower salt in Sa Huynh and a control sample with two particle sizes of 1-2 mm and 2-3 mm to find out their taste perception characteristics.

This callus was initiated from different zones: the basal part of the flower, the surface of the perianth segments, carpels and the receptacle. Meanwhile, direct shoot and somatic embryos were only obtained by cultured explants on different concentrations of ABA which contained the highest concentration of total soluble sugars and their fractions.

Flowers of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) have been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine because of their ability to improve cerebral blood flow. The major active ingredients in safflower are flavonoids. To date, few flavonoid biosynthesis genes have been cloned from this species. In our previous research, four isoform chalcone isomerase genes were screened. In this study, a new chalcone isomerase gene (designated as CtCHI-N) was cloned from a safflower cDNA library. A 696-bp cDNA for CtCHI-N was cloned, and its sequence was subsequently analyzed.

The Saxifragales is a morphologically and ecologically diverse clade of flowering plants with a cosmopolitan distribution. Although families and genera within the order exhibit classic biogeographical disjunctions, no studies to date have rigorously examined and described its historical biogeography. Here, we analyze the historical biogeography of Saxifragales by first generating a new chronogram for the order using a supermatrix approach, based on 61 loci from 251 representative members of Saxifragales.

The lily is a perennial flowering plant belonging to the genus Lilium in the family Liliaceae. Most cultivated lily plants are propagated by bulbs. Therefore, numerous lily bulbs are frequently infected by diverse viruses causing viral diseases. To date, no study has examined the viromes of plants of one type with identical genetic backgrounds collected from different geographical regions.

Photoperiod signals provide important cues by which plants regulate their growth and development in response to predictable seasonal changes. Phytochromes, a family of red and far-red light receptors, play critical roles in regulating flowering time in response to changing photoperiods.

Sweet osmanthus (Osmanthus fragrans Lour.) is one of the top ten traditional ornamental flowers in China. The flowering time of once-flowering cultivars in O. fragrans is greatly affected by the relatively low temperature, but there are few reports on its molecular mechanism to date.

An experiment was conducted at two locations at Navsari and Waghai for studying the efficacy of bioagents for management of sorghum grain mold. Six different treatments were studied among which four biological control agents along with control (water spray) and absolute control (no spray) were sprayed three times each at interval of 15 days from the date of commencement of flowering.

The experiment was laid out in split plot design with two factors namely, tillage practices and different conservation farming split with three replications. The treatment consisted of three tillage practices viz. T1- Conventional tillage, T2 –Minimum tillage and T3 – Summer plouging and five conservation farming viz. C1-Opening conservation, C2- Intercropping with redgram, C3-Mulching, C4-Herbicide application, C5-Combination of all treatments (C1+C2+C3+C4). Observations of crops are analyzed in Split plot design having three replications.

In this paper, we review the characteristics of domestication-related seed traits and heading dates in rice, including the key genes controlling these traits, the differences in allelic diversity between wild rice and cultivars, the geographic distribution of alleles, and the regulatory pathways of these traits. A comprehensive comparison shows that these genes contributed to rice domestication and its global expansion. In addition, these traits have also experienced parallel evolution by artificial selection on the homologues of key genes in other cereals.

Rice plants require a particular temperature for its phonological affair such as panicle initiation; flowering, panicle exertions from flag leaf sheath and maturity and these are very much influenced by the planting dates during India season. Rice seeded before the window of optimum dates usually has slow germination and emergence, poor stand establishment and increased damages from soil borne seedling diseases.

An field experiment was conducted to study the effect of planting dates and pinching levels on growth, flowering in African marigold cv. Arkaagni under open condition. The experiment was laid out with twelve treatment combinations at College of Horticulture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during 2017 - 2018, with four planting dates and three levels of pinching. 2nd fortnight of October planting resulted in more plant spread, primary and secondary branches per plant and also increased several floral characters like flower diameter, number and weight of flowers per plant and yield per hectare.

Twenty lentil genotypes were taken to study the dry matter production, partitioning, and yield, under three different dates of sowing (15 November, 6 December, and 27 December), data were recorded at various growth stages. A decrease in root dry matter in late sowings at pre-flowering and post-flowering was observed. Crop grown on the second sowing (late sown, 6 December) registered higher means for total dry weight and yield at 50 and 65 days after sowing

Flowering time is one of the most important agronomic characteristics that ultimately determine yield potential and eco-geographical adaptation in crops. Ghd8 and Ghd7, two major flowering genes, have similar functions and large pleiotropic effects in controlling the heading date, plant height and grain yield of rice.
