  • In the present paper, the fluorescence sensor based on Schiff base and boric acid was developed for easy and rapid detection of L-tryptophan in different samples such as milk and bovine serum albumin. The photoluminescence intensity was measured by using fluorescent measurements and the results indicated that the developed fluorescent sensor was exhibited selective, sensitive, reliable determination against L-tryptophan, and a series of various analytes such as cations, amino acids, and organic compounds were used to investigate the selectivity of the fluorescent chemosensor.

  • A new anthracene derivative of calix[4]arene was synthesized as a highly fluorescent compound. This compound was examined for its fluorescent properties towards different metal ions (Li+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+) by UV and fluorescence spectroscopy. On complexation by alkaline earth metal cations and transition metal cations, the fluorescence spectrum was quenched. In particular, Ca2+ caused greater than 98% quenching of the anthracene derivative of calix[4]arene.

  • A general synthetic method was improved to synthesize a chemosensor based on a tripodal Bodipy (t-BODIPY) structure. The product and its intermediate products were successfully prepared and fully characterized. The metal ion sensing performance of the tripodal compound was evaluated by UV/Vis and fluorescence spectroscopies. According to the obtained data, t-BODIPY is a selective and sensitive fluorescence probe for detection of Cu2+ ions in the presence and in the absence of competing ions. This chemosensor presents relatively a low detection limit of 5.4 x10–7 M for Cu2+.

  • Synthesis of a new (E)-N1-((9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)methylene)-5-nitrobenzene-1,2-diamine as a fluorescent chemosensor for selective detection of Fe3+ ion over a number of other metal ions is described. The method for the synthesis of the carbazole Schiff base was based on the condensation of carbazole-3-carbaldehyde with 4-nitro-ophenyldiamine in dimethylformamide in a moderate yield. The structure of the final compound was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and single crystal X-ray diffraction.

  • The newly synthesized cyclotriphosphazene cored coumarin chemosensors 5, 6, and 7 were successfully characterized by 1 H NMR, 31P NMR, and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Additionally, the photophysical and metal sensing properties of the targeted compounds were determined by fluorescence spectroscopy in the presence of various metals (Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Ba2+, Cr3+, Mn2+, Fe3+, Co2+, Al3+, Hg+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Ag+, and Cd2+). The fluorescence titration results showed that compounds 5, 6, and 7 could be employed as fluorescent chemosensors for Fe3+ ions with high sensitivity.

  • Phenyl-4,4-di(3,6-dibutoxyphthalonitrile) (3) was synthesized by the reaction of 1,4-phenylenebisboronic acid (1) and 4-bromo-3,6-dibutoxyphthalonitrile (2), using Suzuki cross-coupling reaction. The newly synthesized compound (3) was characterized by FT-IR, MALDI-MS, ESI-MS, 1 H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and 13C-DEPT-135-NMR.

  • In this research, the new fluorescent conjugated polymers based on 10-(Perylene-3-yl-10HPhenoxazine (PyP) and 9,9-dioctyl-9h-fluorene (PF) have been synthesized via direct arylation polymerization using Pd(OAc)2, PivOH and PCy3.HBF4 as catalyst system. The monomer based on phenothiazine has been synthesized via C-N coupling to obtain the 4-(10H-phenothiazine-10-yl)- N,N-diphenylaniline (PyP). The synthesized novel conjugated polymers based on PyP and PF have been characterized via 1 H NMR, GPC, FTIR, DSC, XRD, PL, and UV-Vis spectrum.

  • A benzothiazolium-derived colorimetric and fluorescent chemosensor (L) for detection of mercury ions has been prepared. The detection limits of the colorimetric and fluorescent method for mercury ions are 15.3 and 11.8 ppb, respectively, much lower than the reported chemosensors based on similar derivatives of benzothiazolium.
