Development of flotation technique using γ poly glutamic acid as flotation agent and its application to the removal of fine activated carbon particles and lead ions in solution

The new flotation system for separation of activated carbon powder (ACP) from aqueous solution by using poly γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) is proposed in this study. Firstly, γ-PGA was added as flotation agent (both collector agents of ACP and bubble agents). Air was bubbled into the solution, which generates the foam that carries the ACP adsorbed PGA from the solution to the surface.

Saponin in poultry and monogastric animals: A review

Due to awareness of consumers towards clean and safe meat availability, plant secondary metabolites (PSMs) such as essential oils, organic acids, saponins and flavonoids etc. are rapidly gaining attention since last few decades. PSMs are the secondary compounds that are produced by plants and they don’t have primary role as nutrients. These can be the effective alternative to antibiotics because of their promising effects on overall performance of poultry and monogastric animals. Saponins are high molecular weight glycosides which are able to form foam in aqueous solution.
