A field experiment was conducted during March to January, 2019-2020 at the Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj to study the “Effect of Foliar Application of Macro and Micronutrients on Fruit drop, Growth and quality of Kinnow Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) on Five year old plants under Prayagraj Agro climatic conditions”.

Sathgudi cultivar of sweet orange is very popular in Andhra Pradesh and it is successfully grown in Rayalaseema region (Red and loamy soils) of Andhra Pradesh. In certain scarce rainfall regions of Andhra Pradesh, Ambe bahar flower initiation in sweet orange occurs late in February and extended up to first fortnight of March resulting poor fruit growth, leading to low economic fruit yields.

Two years (2014-15 and 2015-16) of field experiments were conducted under winter irrigated conditions on Periyanaicken palayam soil series (Vertic Ustropept) at Central Institute for Cotton Research, Regional Station, Coimbatore to study the effect of different types of commercially available nanofertilizers on cotton growth and yield. Combined form of macro and micronutrient nanofertilizers (NF 1, NF 2, NF 3 and NF 4) compared with recommended dose of combined form of normal micronutrient fertilizers which were sprayed on cotton (var: Suraj) at 30 and 90 DAS.

Foliar fertilization is nutrition through leaves, is a very efficient technique of supplementary fertilization. Foliar nutrition is very important because foliar nutrients facilitate easy and quick consumption of nutrients by penetrating the stomata or leaf cuticle and enters the cells. Foliar fertilization is used as a means of supplying supplemental doses of macro and micro-nutrients, plant hormones, stimulants, and other beneficial substances. It is determined that during crop growth supplementary foliar fertilization increase plants mineral status and improve crop yields.

An experiment was conducted at the Regional Horticultural Research and Extension Centre, Bengaluru. The effect of foliar application of different growth regulators and macronutrients on the growth of aonla seedlings was studied. The treatment with GA3 300 ppm recorded the maximum seedling height (37.00 cm), stem diameter (0.61 cm), number of leaves (42.33), fresh weight (41.83 g) and dry weight (3.16 g), while minimum was noticed in control. Correlation matrix was worked out for different characters to known the relationship between the characters.
