The Tropical Thorn Forest at foot hills of Niligris located in Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam under Jackanari Reserve forest, Tamil Nadu, India was scouted and surveyed for the presence and prevalence of Ectomycorrhizal Fungal association. About Twelve different groups of fruiting bodies of ECM fungi were identified and their prevalence index ranged between 40-80% indicating wide diversity and dependency of forest trees on ECM fungi.

The current study aims at discriminating the thirty Calophyllum inophyllum progenies thorough the deployment of Inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR) markers. The thirty progenies of Calophyllum inophyllum were collected from the predominant distribution and systematic analysis were carried out to elucidate the genetic divergence at Molecular Biology Lab of Department of Tree Breeding of Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam.

The present study is focused on to look for novel strains of lignin degrading bacteria from various organic sources. The different sample sources used for the isolation of lignin degrading bacteria were from cow dung, compost, forest soil, garden soil in agriculture college, Hassan. Enrichment of sample source was also done by mixing the paper, corncob, compost, cowdung and soil in different proportions and kept for 15 days at room temperature.

Field experiment was conducted on “Effect of climatic factor and date of sowing on wheat crop in Allahabad condition, Uttar Pradesh” at Forest Nursery, College of Forestry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad, (U.P.). The objective of this research was to find out the role of date of sowing and climatic factors on different stages in wheat crop. The result of study indicated that after date of sowing, the maximum germination of seed was observed within 1-7 days and total 78 % of germination achieved.

The field experiment was conducted at Research cum Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture and Research Station, Singarbhat, Kanker, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) during Kharif 2013-14. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Complete Design with four replication, in-situ sixty genotypes of about 10 year age were selected for investigation, which were found as wild seedling plants on forest land and rice bunds.

The present investigation was carried out at Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu to estimate the extent of variability and association present for seed parameters of Prosopis juliflora Dc. across its natural distribution in south India for further collection of seeds for afforestation or breeding purpose. The study revealed that seed sources from Tuticorin, Rameshwaram, Ramnad and Keezhakarai exhibit significant amount of variability in all the seed characters investigated viz.

Importantly, post-secondary education and training can provide the cognitive and interactive skills required for good, high-paid, jobs. The conclusions and recommendations that have been put forward in this paper are based on the data collected throughout the life of this project. Opinions from a wide range of stakeholders were gathered during the four conferences which were hosted by Strategic Asia and the UK FCO as part of this project. Two conferences at the regional level, Kalimantan and Lombok, were held to assess implementation barriers and requirements as well as opportunities in the MP3EI. Two further national conferences were also held in Jakarta.

He recently retired as Professor of Forest Policy and Management at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Syracuse NY, where he was Chair, Faculty of Forest and Natural Resources Management. He taught forest and natural resource economics at Michigan, Yale and other universities, managed Forestry Research for the Crown Zellerbach Corporation in the 1970s, worked for the Ford Foundation in New Delhi, India, and later was a senior program officer with Winrock International.

It seems long ago that Fitzroy Dearborn Publishers invited me to edit a two- volume encyclopedia about 20th-century architecture. In 1998, I was teaching the history of architecture in a landmark 1890s Richardsonian Romanesque building at Lake Forest College, a small liberal arts college north of Chicago.
