Identifying the complete repertoire of genes that drive cancer in individual patients is crucial for precision oncology. Most established methods identify driver genes that are recurrently altered across patient cohorts. However, mapping these genes back to patients leaves a sizeable fraction with few or no drivers, hindering our understanding of cancer mechanisms and limiting the choice of therapeutic interventions.

Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) profiling is increasingly used to guide cancer care, yet mutations are not always identified. The ability to detect somatic mutations in plasma depends on both assay sensitivity and the fraction of circulating DNA in plasma that is tumor-derived (i.e., cfDNA tumor fraction).

Liver cancer and breast cancer have high death rates and tend to increase rapidly in recent years in Vietnam and over the world. Currently, the study of bioactive compounds isolated from plants for killing cancer cells is of interest. The study aims to identify the cytotoxicity using MTT assay of Combretum quadrangulare Kurz fractions against MCF-7 cells.

Symplocos cochinchinensis grown at Quang Ngai Province has been harvested and investigated. The present study reports the isolated triterpenes from Symplocos cochinchinensis leaves. From the n-hexane fraction, two compounds including β-amyrin palmitate (1), corosolic acid (2), were isolated and identified.

Phenolic acids are one of the major fractions identified in the extract of several vegetable seed oils which present interesting antioxidant properties. A density functional theory (DFT) study on the antioxidant potential of eight phenolic acids including gallic, vanillic, isovanillic, ferulic, caffeic, β-coumaric, cinnamic, and chlorogenic acids, is presented in this paper.

The aim of this study is to enhance biogas production from the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) and garden waste (GW) via pretreatment and codigestion. In order to achieve the aims of the study, two objectives have been developed and are outlined below: To investigate an optimum co-digestion mixture of OFMSW with untreated and pretreated GW; to investigate the effectiveness of different pretreatments on the potential for biogas production from GW and to identify the relationship between certain changes in GW characteristics and enhanced yield.

The structures of the products were established by the methods of TLC, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The purification of trehalose lipids from crude extract was carried out using silica gel column chromatography, one of the trehalose lipids fractions was identified as a trehalose dimycolate. The presence of (NН) group was detected in the exopolysaccharide. For the first time, a biodegradable polymer was isolated from bacteria cells of the strain R. erythropolis Au-1, іt was identified as the polyhydroxyalkanoate.

Tests to identify reversible airflow limitation are important in asthma diagnosis, but they are time-consuming and it may be difficult for patients to cooperate. We aimed to evaluate whether the combination of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and blood eosinophil (B-Eos) can be used to distinguish some asthma patients who could avoid objective tests.

A substantial fraction of genes identified within bacterial genomes encode proteins of unknown function. Identifying which of these proteins represent potential virulence factors, and mapping their key virulence determinants, is a challenging but important goal.

Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are multifunctional effector molecules that often combine direct antimicrobial activities with signaling or immunomodulatory functions. The skin secretions of anurans contain a variety of such bioactive peptides. The identification of AMPs from frog species often requires sacrificing several specimens to obtain small quantities of crude peptides, followed by activity based fractionation to identify the active principles.

Marine endophytic fungi (MEF) are good sources of structurally unique and biologically active secondary metabolites. Due to the increase in antimicrobial resistance, the secondary metabolites from MEF ought to be fully explored to identify candidates which could serve as lead compounds for novel drug development.

The identification of cell type-specific genes (markers) is an essential step for the deconvolution of the cellular fractions, primarily, from the gene expression data of a bulk sample. However, the genes with significant changes identified by pair-wise comparisons cannot indeed represent the specificity of gene expression across multiple conditions.

ChIPx (i.e., ChIP-seq and ChIP-chip) is increasingly used to map genome-wide transcription factor (TF) binding sites. A single ChIPx experiment can identify thousands of TF bound genes, but typically only a fraction of these genes are functional targets that respond transcriptionally to perturbations of TF expression.

Most fractional extracts from fruits and leaves of P. tectorius ex. J.P. du Roi collected in the Bach Ma National Park, Thua Thien - Hue Province, have remarkable cytotoxic activity against KB cell lines. Of these, ethyl acetate extracts have the best activity (with IC50 values of 24 to 48 µg/mL). The main volatile components were identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

A study on forms and distribution of carbon in the soils of Dambal sub-watershed of Mundargi taluk of Gadag district, Karnataka was undertaken during 2018-19. One representative soil profile for each soil series was selected to represent twenty two soil series identified under Sujala-III project. Depth wise soil samples were collected and analysed for forms of carbon. Soils were generally sandy clay loam to clay in texture, bulk density and particle density increased with depth and on contrary porosity was decreased with depth.
