This paper presents a detailed experimental validation of an orthotropic laminate model to predict the vibroacoustic behavior of flat sandwich-composite plates with foam core. The accuracy of the model is investigated using a thin sandwich plate over a large frequency band. The sound transmission loss (STL) across several clamped sandwich-composite plates with polyurethane foam core is compared for different core density, different core thickness and different skin thickness.

This paper proposes a lefthanded circularly polarized (LHCP) 2×4 array antenna using sequential phase rotation power dividers at 5.8 GHz band. — In this article, a travelling wave antenna that covers the 2 to 4 GHz band for human movement recognition is proposed. It is composed of a waveguide structure with slots in order to generate radiating beams in different directions. This frequencyscanned antenna is used to determine the moving target based on the Micro-Doppler radar effect. Then frequency signature obtained from the scanned system provides the 2D radar image of the movement.

The paper presents several integrated high frequency antenna prototypes based on Silicon (Si) CMOS and on-glass technologies for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications. An on-chip loop antenna and dipole radiator are presented. In addition, a wide-band dipole-patch antenna design for the range of 74 – 104 GHz is integrated into a CMOS chip with an on-chip pulse generator. In addition, an implementation of a fully on-Silicon antenna array integrated with a timed-array transmitter is introduced.

Consequently, a polarizationconversion mode is obtained with a high cross-polarization reflection in a broadband region (where the cross-polarization coefficient reaches up to 75 % in the frequency-range of 12.5 - 16.5 GHz). The polarization conversion was verified by experiment and the mechanism was clarified by the simulation of induced electric and magnetic fields. Our work could contribute to metamaterial-based multifunctional devices such as filter and polarization modulators.

In this paper, a fully transparent antenna comprising of an Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) backed Co-planar Waveguide (CPW) fed dual-ring monopole is presented. The monopole antenna and AMC structure achieve transparency due to the use of AgHT-8 conductive oxide and Plexiglas substrate. Measured antenna performance shows an impedance bandwidth of 5.3 – 6 GHz (12.4 %) in the U-NII-1 to U-NII-4 frequency band with a peak gain of 5.7 dBi which is approximately an increase of 4.5 % and 3.9 dBi, respectively, as compared to the stand-alone antenna.
