  • The performance and water use efficiency (WUE) of Chrysanthemum var. Marigold was evaluated under two moisture regimes, i.e., 100 % FC and 70 % FC imposed and maintained using gravimetric method.   • A field experiment was conducted to measure the effect of phosphorus levels [0 kg (P0), 25 kg (P1), 40 kg (P2) and 55kg (P3) P2O5 ha-1 ] on chickpea variety JG-14. The height of main shoots (47.56 cm), fresh weight plant-1 (22.50g) and dry weight/plant (13.50g) were recorded significantly higher in P3. Seed yield for P3 was recorded 17.00 q ha-1 which is significantly higher as compare to P0 (11.45 q ha-1 ), P1 (11.50 q ha-1 ) and P2 (14.77 q ha-1 ).   • The first experiment was set up in a field of 500 m2 to determine the productivity and nutritional value of Hymenachne acutigluma and Paspalum atratum grasses planted on waterlogged soil. Results showed that two kinds of grasses were similar in biomass and nutritive values. The second experiment was conducted in an 800 m2 area, Paspalum grass was planted at different spacings in wet land of approximately 20 cm in depth. No significant differences were found on grass fresh and dry yield. The third study was carried out in dairy farms of Soctrang province for 64 days.

  • In the present study, mean performance of genotypes, based on growth and yield attributing traits of genotypes viz., DCC 5 (16.56 g), DCC 38 (16.56 g) and DCC 32 (16.35 g), followed by DCC 28 (14.69 g), DCC 35 (14.26 g), DCC 21 (13.38 g) and DCC 23 (12.21g) were identified as high yielding leafy types. Whereas, DCC 5 (2.94 g), DCC 38 (2.86 g), DCC 23 (2.85 g), DCC 35 (2.64 g), DCC 39 (2.52 g) and DCC 21 (2.42 g) recorded the maximum dry herbage yield during the whole season. These genotypes can be used successfully for further breeding programmes.

  • A field experiment was conducted from 23rd March to 31st May-2019 to evaluate the effect of drip irrigation levels on amaranthus (Amaranthus hybridus L) yield and water use efficiency under shade-net. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design (RBD) with five treatments (60%, 80%, 100% and 120% of water requirement using drip irrigation and 100% of water requirement using furrow irrigation) and four replications.   • The field experiments were conducted at Nematology field, ICR Farm, AAU., Jorhat during 2016 and 2017 to know the efficacy of bioagent, P. fluorescens and biofertilizer, Azotobacter sp. for that P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp. were enriched in the substrates like farmyard manure, vermicompost and enriched compost. After enrichment of P. fluorescens and Azotobacter sp. were applied singly and in combination at the rate of 1% per hectare (ha). These treatments were compared with untreated control.   • Trichoderma species are commonly used as biological control agents against phytopathogenic fungi and some isolates are able to improve plant growth. In this study, the effects of seven Trichoderma isolates from Madhya Pradesh was examined in chilli for enhancing seedling and plant vigor via two way introduction methods (inoculating seed with Trichoderma as seed treatment and also seed treatment with three foliar sprays). Different isolates of Trichoderma spp. significantly influenced the root length, shoot length and number of leaves of chilli at seedling stage.

  • Nitrogen has been associated to lettuce fresh weight accumulation. In this way, different bio stimulants formulations containing amino acids have been commercially offered although the yield increase has not been properly supported. The aim of this work was a) to quantify the changes in lettuce fresh weight accumulation and the physiological mechanism involved in plants sprayed with different amino acid solutions and (b) to characterize the responses to root restrictions under nursery with non-limited nitrogen supply.
