  • Hedysarum alamutense, a new species in the tribe Hedysareae DC. (Fabaceae), is described and illustrated. It belongs to the traditionally recognized Hedysarum L. section Multicaulia (Boiss.) B.Fedtsch., which extends over the West Alborz Mountains in northern Iran. This species is characterized by greenish stems and corolla persisting in fruiting stage and has mostly 1–2-jointed, unarmed, biconvex pods with short hairs becoming bald early, and flattened margins. Phylogenetic analyses of molecular data clearly unite this species with H. formosum Fisch. & C.A.Mey. ex Basin.

  • The HD-LBP–treated rats had high levels of SOD and low levels of MDA in their serum samples. Moreover, HD-LBP and drug-treated groups had a high number of SER receptors and BDNF-positive cells and a low number of TUNEL-positive cells in their hippocampal brain tissues. The HD-LBP treatments decrease anxious behavior by increasing antioxidant enzyme activities, hippocampal SER and BDNF neurotransmitter levels and decreasing the TUNEL-positive cell count of ovariectomized rats.

  • The WRKY gene family is one of the most important families in higher plants. As transcription factors, they actively respond to biotic and abiotic stress and are also involved in plant development. Chinese jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) is the largest type of dried fruit tree in China in terms of production, but its production is largely limited by phytoplasma infection, and the information about the role of WRKY genes under phytoplasma stress was still limited.

  • Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) is an important species with a high content of flavonoids in fruits. As a perennial shrub, blueberry is characterized by shallow-rooted property and susceptible to drought stress. MYB transcription factor was reported to be widely involved in plant response to abiotic stresses, however, the role of MYB family in blueberry responding to drought stress remains elusive.

  • Banana is a tropical fruit with a high economic impact worldwide. Cold stress greatly affects the development and production of banana. In the present study, we investigated the functions of MaMAPK3 and MaICE1 involved in cold tolerance of banana. The effect of RNAi of MaMAPK3 on Dajiao (Musa spp. ‘Dajiao’; ABB Group) cold tolerance was evaluated.

  • Phenotypic and genotypic correlation coefficient studies were carried out in recombinant inbred line population of Vaibhav x Anaga cross for yield and quality characters. The association studies showed that fruit yield/plant (kg) has positive correlation with plant height (cm), Average fruit weight (g), number of branches per plant, number of fruits per plant, total soluble solids and number of locules/fruit at both genotypic and phenotypic levels.

  • Correlation and path analysis for 17 traits were conducted for 22 genotypes of pointed gourd during 2016-17 at College of Horticulture, Dr. Y. S. R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than the phenotypic correlation coefficient. Correlation study indicated that the number of nodes per vine, fruit length, fruit weight, pulp weight per fruit, pulp seed ratio, number of fruits per plant had significant positive association with fruit yield (t/ha) at both phenotypic and genotypic levels.
