Hedysarum alamutense, a new species in the tribe Hedysareae DC. (Fabaceae), is described and illustrated. It belongs to the traditionally recognized Hedysarum L. section Multicaulia (Boiss.) B.Fedtsch., which extends over the West Alborz Mountains in northern Iran. This species is characterized by greenish stems and corolla persisting in fruiting stage and has mostly 1–2-jointed, unarmed, biconvex pods with short hairs becoming bald early, and flattened margins. Phylogenetic analyses of molecular data clearly unite this species with H. formosum Fisch. & C.A.Mey. ex Basin.

The HD-LBP–treated rats had high levels of SOD and low levels of MDA in their serum samples. Moreover, HD-LBP and drug-treated groups had a high number of SER receptors and BDNF-positive cells and a low number of TUNEL-positive cells in their hippocampal brain tissues. The HD-LBP treatments decrease anxious behavior by increasing antioxidant enzyme activities, hippocampal SER and BDNF neurotransmitter levels and decreasing the TUNEL-positive cell count of ovariectomized rats.

Phenotypic and genotypic correlation coefficient studies were carried out in recombinant inbred line population of Vaibhav x Anaga cross for yield and quality characters. Correlation and path analysis for 17 traits were conducted for 22 genotypes of pointed gourd during 2016-17 at College of Horticulture, Dr. Y. S. R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than the phenotypic correlation coefficient. Correlation study indicated that the number of nodes per vine, fruit length, fruit weight, pulp weight per fruit, pulp seed ratio, number of fruits per plant had significant positive association with fruit yield (t/ha) at both phenotypic and genotypic levels.

Genetic studies in terms of correlation and path coefficient analysis were studied for10 quantitative characters of thirty-two genotypes of brinjal (Solanum melongena L.).Total yield per plant had exhibited highly significant and positive association with marketable fruit yield per plant, fruit weight, fruit weight per plant and fruit circumference and significant association with marketable fruit yield per plant.

An experiment was conducted for 12 different traits in bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) standl) comprising 45 hybrids obtained by crossing 10 parental lines in diallel mating design to study the correlation and direct and indirect effects of different characters on fruit yield. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design. The overall analysis reveals that fruit yield was positively and significant correlated with fruit/plants.

A study on direct and indirect effects of 12 different quantitative characters of brinjal through path analysis study on yield and its component traits had revealed that days to first flowering had the maximum positive direct effect followed by plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight and node at which first flowering appear, while rest of the characters like days to 50% flowering, number of branches per plant, days to edible maturity, days to first fruiting, fruit girth and fruit length exhibited negative direct effect.

The purpose of this study was to isolate and screened amylase producing fungi from different sources. A total of twenty amylase producing fungal isolates were obtained from soil, fruits, vegetables, baked food, and flour on the starch mineral agar medium. It was observed that ten fungi and ten yeasts isolates produced amylase, only nine fungal colonies showed positive results for amylase production. The maximum amylase activity shown by yeast isolates YPO3 (3.2cm) followed by YBR2 (3.1cm).

An experiment conducted on bottle gourd to study the path coefficient analysis in bottle gourd at Zonal Agriculture Research Station, Chhindwara (J.N.K.V.V., Jabalpur). The experiment was laid out in RCBD and on the basis of pooled analysis (summer 2008 and kharif 2008). On the basis of pooled analysis correlation coefficient of fruit yield per plant was expressed significant and positive with days to appearance of first male flower, number of male flower per plant, number of female flower per plant, fruit setting percentage, length of fruit, weight of fruit and number of fruits per plant.
