In this work, 19 newly introduced and some traditional apricot cultivars were evaluated by 20 phenological and agronomical traits and fruit quality attributes. The results showed a wide variation in phenological data, tree vigour (TCSA), productivity [yield per tree, cumulative yield (CY) and yield efficiency (YE)], and fruit quality attributes such as fruit and stone weight, flesh/stone ratio, fruit dimensions, size, shape index, soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA) and ripening index (RI).

The present investigation was carried out with five different packaging material T1 (LDPE), T2 (HDPE), T3 (Shrink), T4 and T5 (Cling) for increasing the shelf life of sapota at different temperature and ambient temperature. The effect of packaging material on physiological loss in weight, decay loss, pulp: peel ratio, fruit length, fruit width, and fruit shape index, specific gravity was observed.

The present study was undertaken to observe the response of Kinnow Mandarin to different forms of growth regulators and nutrients. The result of investigation indicates that fruit length and diameter were found maximum with the foliar application of K2SO4 2%, shape index and ascorbic acid were found maximum with the foliar application of 2, 4-D 20 ppm, peel thickness, acidity, peel content were recorded minimum and juice content and TSS were recorded maximum with the foliar application 2, 4-D 10 ppm, while rag content was found maximum with the application of GA3 20 ppm.

Understanding the genetic variability and diversity of a crops species provides opportunity for plant breeders to develop new and improved cultivars having both farmer-preferred and breeder-preferred traits. In the present study 11 morphological characters and 16 quantitative characters were recorded from 27 advance breeding lines/varieties to identify useful alleles for future breeding. Genotypes varied considerably in plant growth and morphological characters. The overall mean of ShannonWiener diversity index (H’) value was 0.

In fruit crops, the ripening of fruit is expressed in terms of change in its physical, physiological & biochemical parameters. Some of the relevant parameters like Size & Shape, Colour, Hardness/Softness, Texture etc. can be treated as reference for its maturity. The final stage of fruit ripening is considered to attain a maturity level of these parameters as an indicator for harvesting the fruit crop or ready to use in ripening storage units/chambers. Development of sensor-based maturity indicators can serve as important technological aid to the farmers.
