Paeonia ostii is a potentially important oilseed crop because its seed yield is high, and the seeds are rich in α-linolenic acid (ALA). However, the molecular mechanisms underlying ALA biosynthesis during seed kernel, seed testa, and fruit pericarp development in this plant are unclear.

The private seed producing companies and public institutes have released many varieties and hybrids with particular characteristics like high yielding, enhanced fruit quality, tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress etc. But we may not have all these characters in a single variety or hybrids, so, we can go for grafting where the best characters of both scion and rootstock could efficiently utilized. The selection of particular rootstock and scion material depends on purpose of grafting, environmental conditions and objective of experiment.

The plants produce about 35 fruits per season and fruit ship well. First year production is larger than second year production. Each gram of seed contains about 50 - 80 seeds. About 50 to 80 g seeds are required to get planting material sufficient to take up planting per hectare.

Strawberry is a very unique berry fruit. It is mainly cultivated in subtropical and temperate area. Strawberry is a non climacteric fruit. It is rich in vitamin c and iron. It is lawgrowing herbaceous plant which arise basal leaves. PGR play a key role in yield and size of the fruit. GA₃ has stimulate the effect on the fruit of strawberry ripening , testimonial by a reduce the activity of respiration and detain the synthesis of anthocyanin and breakdown of chlorophyll gibberellic acid influence the growth , and fruiting etc.

In tomato, different growth regulators play a pivotal role in germination, root development, branching, flower initiation, fruiting, lycopene development, synchronization and early maturation, parthenocarpic fruit development, ripening, TSS, acidity, seed production etcetera. To boost the tomato production in India these versatile resources greatly help the professionals and researchers. By keeping the importance of growth regulator in tomato production this review paper is scripted.

Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench, commonly known as ‘ladies finger’ or ‘bhindi’ is an economically important common vegetable crop cultivated throughout the tropical and warm temperate regions of the world. Induced mutation is highly effective in enhancing natural genetic resources and has been used in developing improved cultivars. The effect of gamma irradiation on various morphological and yield attributing characters in M2 generation were studied.

Correlation and path analysis for 17 traits were conducted for 22 genotypes of pointed gourd during 2016-17 at College of Horticulture, Dr. Y. S. R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than the phenotypic correlation coefficient. Correlation study indicated that the number of nodes per vine, fruit length, fruit weight, pulp weight per fruit, pulp seed ratio, number of fruits per plant had significant positive association with fruit yield (t/ha) at both phenotypic and genotypic levels.

The genetic parameters of variability were studied for ten yield traits in 66 genotypes of tomato. Highly significant genotypic differences were reported for all the traits. The maximum coefficient of range was reported for average fruit weight followed by fruit yield (Kg)/plant, number of seeds/fruit and total number of fruits/plant.

Plant growth regulators and micronutrients are an important part of plants and affect their physiology in several ways. Micronutrients and plant growth regulators together play an important role. They help in both vegetative and reproductive growth and are indispensable for the product of foliage flowers, fruits and seeds.

Plant nutrition plays a major role in quantitative and qualitative crop production in bringing sustainability and plants require seventeen essential elements for their normal growth and development. Among these, those elements required smaller in quantity is called micronutrients (Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, B, Cl, Mo and Ni). Micronutrients are essentially as important as macronutrients to have better growth, yield and quality in plants.

A field trial was conducted to study the climate change effects on quality makhana production at ICAR-RCER, Research Centre on Makhana during 2016-2017. The objectives of the study were developing new makhana production strategies to secure sustainable production under climate change or various weather conditions. High temperature and reduced humidity resulted in production of rather smaller nuts and leaves. The results revealed that makhana was a photo insensitive crop and its growth and development were markedly changed with the change of climates.

The development of fruits without fertilization is known as parthenocarpy. Parthenocarpy improves the fruit quality, processing attributes, production and productivity of vegetable crops like tomato, cucumber, watermelon etc. Absence of seeds can enhances the shelf life of the fruits, allowing a better conservation, fruit set in adverse climatic conditions, early and offseason production of vegetable crops. Therefore, it is important to ensure yield stability regardless of environmental conditions.
