The multifaceted control of gene expression requires tight coordination of regulatory mechanisms at transcriptional and post-transcriptional level. Here, we studied the interdependence of transcription initiation, splicing and polyadenylation events on single mRNA molecules by full-length mRNA sequencing.

Mature spermatozoa contain numerous epididymal and seminal plasma proteins, which full identification through high-throughput technologies may allow for a better understanding of the sperm biology. Therefore, we conducted a global proteomic analysis of boar spermatozoa through shotgun and gel-based methodologies.

Zebrafish is a full-developed model system for studying development processes and human disease. Recent studies of deep sequencing had discovered a large number of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in zebrafish. However, only few of them had been functionally characterized. Therefore, how to take advantage of the mature zebrafish system to deeply investigate the lncRNAs’ function and conservation is really intriguing.

The present experiment was conducted during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 with sixty genotypes of fennel for the assessment of seed quality and vigour. Seeds of different genotypes were collected from different locations of India (Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar etc.). These diverse genotypes were sown (13 November 2015 for first year and 11 November 2016 for second year) with Augmented block design and seed harvesting (20 May, 2015 for first year and 25 May 2017 for the second year) was done after full maturity.

The genes that produce antibodies and the immune receptors expressed on lymphocytes are not germline encoded; rather, they are somatically generated in each developing lymphocyte by a process called V(D)J recombination, which assembles specific, independent gene segments into mature composite genes. The full set of composite genes in an individual at a single point in time is referred to as the immune repertoire.

A fruit can be defined as a mature ovary. Fruit development can generally be considered to occur in four phases, viz., fruit set phase, rapid cell division, cell enlargement, and maturation and ripening. Generally, fruit development follows a sigmoid growth. But, in case of stone fruits and some other fruits double sigmoid growth curve is noticed. Fruit set normally requires the full completion of fertilization, although in some plants fertilization can be bypassed leading to the formation of a seedless fruit, a process referred to as parthenocarpy. Notopterygium incisum is an important Chinese medicinal plant. Its mature seeds have underdeveloped embryos and are physiological dormant. We found the seeds with full developed embryos can germinate after treated by fluridone (FL), an inhibitor of abscisic acid (ABA).

Chilli (Capsicum annuum) is an important spice as well as vegetable crop that are grown throughout the world especially in tropical and subtropical regions. India is a major producer, exporter and consumer of chilli. Chilli is grown in almost all states. Anthracnose disease can occur on leaves, stems, and both pre and post-harvest fruits. It is one of the major and devastating diseases of chilli causes severe losses (10-60%) both in yield and quality of the chilli depending upon the varieties. Diseases are the major problem for successful cultivation of chilli in India.

This paper examines the effect of “aggressive” bank lending on subsequent bank relationships. The analysis is based on a unique hand collected dataset of 515 technology and non-technology firms that went public during the 1996-2000 “dotcom” period. It examines the effect of their pre-IPO bank agreements during the subsequent contraction and relaxation of lending standards, a full cycle, up to 2007. Overall, despite the correction of “aggressive” bank lending to technology firms, pre-IPO lending increases the likelihood of post-IPO lending during the rest of the cycle.

Coconut has a prolonged reproductive phase of 44 months from the initiation of the inflorescence primordium to full maturity of the nuts. Weather affects all stages of the long development cycle and thus there is likely to be extended predictability based on climate variability. An attempt is being made to relate the coconut sample survey data of Coconut Development Board with climate data of Chanrayapatna taluk of Hassan district. Mean nut yield per palm, per year in the Chanrayapatna taluk was 83.3. Among the villages, Baldare recorded significantly lower nut yield (78.

Bougainvillea antiviral protein (BAP) is one among a class of the ribosomal inactivating proteins isolated from Bougainvillea spectabilis willd. Truncated version of the BAP gene was cloned and expressed in a prokaryotic vector to abolish its cytotoxicity. RNA was isolated from mature leaves of Bougainvillea and the full length cDNA was amplified by reverse transcription-PCR using template mRNA. This full length cDNA of size 756 bp was amplified using the proofreading polymerase (Q5 polymerase) and end to end gene specific primers for removal of C-terminal, the amplicon was cloned in pJET1.

The runners of 12 strawberry varieties i.e., viz. V1 (Northwest), V2 (Tioga), V3 (Pajaro), V4 (Seascape), V5 (Fern), V6 (Chandler), V7 (Shimla Delicious), V8 (No.5), V9 (Dil Pasand), V10 (Larson), V11 (Torrey) and V12 (Sweet Charlie) were planted at 30x30 cm apart on the ridge beds at end of October.

Result of three years pooled data showed that increase in plant height (35.81 cm), trunk girth (4.42 mm) canopy volume (1.94 m3 ), growth of current season shoot (9.08 cm), leaf area (31.52 cm2 ) and leaf area index (5.54) were responses more under higher doses of fertigation i e 120 % RDF followed by 100 % RDF.

The present work reports isolation and characterization of a highly glycosylated protein from bovine milk fat globule membranes, known as PAS III. Partial amino-acid sequencing of the purified protein allowed construction of degenerate oligonucleotide primers, enabling isolation of a full-length cDNA encoding a protein of 330 amino-acid residues. N-terminal amino-acid sequencing of derived peptides and the purified protein confirmed 76% of the sequence and demonstrated presence of a cleavable signal peptide of 23 residues, leaving a mature protein of 307 amino acids.
