Anthracnose leaf disease in rubber trees, caused by the attack of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, have led to the serious decline in natural rubber production. Continuous usage of synthetic fungicide leave the toxic residues that harm the surrounding animals and plants and are not environmentally friendly. It needs a better solution with organic products that are safer, more effective and biodegradable. Piper species could be considered as a source of new natural products with potential antifungal activities.

Brinjal is an important vegetables crop grown in India. The leaf mold is an important disease causing yield loss in Manipur region. Among the plant extracts studied garlic at both concentrations (3 and 6%) showed maximum growth inhibition, whereas among the fungicides propiconazole and hexaconazole showed the maximum efficiency in inhibition of growth over the control. The sporulation was completely inhibited in all the treatments studied.

Twelve fungicides including systemic and non-systemic, five bioagents and eight plant extracts were evaluated in vitro against Exserohilum turcicum, the causal agent of Turcicum leaf blight of maize. All the test fungicides, bioagents and plant extracts showed fungistatic action and significantly inhibited mycelial growth of the test pathogen over untreated control.

Black gram anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum is the most devasting disease. Due to its severe infection during humid climatic conditions spraying of chemical fungicides is essential to control the disease. Frequent application of synthetic chemicals, leads to the detoriation of environment and development of resistance. The present study was carried out to manage black gram anthracnose pathogen using plant extracts.

The bacterial leaf blight of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryazae pv. oryzae is the disease of great economics importance in India especially in Bihar. Management of BLB disease can play a vital role in management of rice disease. In the present investigation evolution of different plant extract (botanical) and new chemical on growth of bacteria by poison food technique and sowing by best botanical and new chemical were conducted and antagonistic activity were tested.

Studies were undertaken to evaluate the plant extracts, fungicides and bio-agents against early blight disease of tomato caused by Alternaria solani under in vitro and vivo conditions. Among the four evaluated plant extracts against A. solani, neem leaf extract at 15% (w/v) was found to be most effective in inhibiting the mycelial growth of the pathogen with inhibition of 52.36 per cent, followed by combination of garlic clove and green chilli extract with the inhibition of 50.42 per cent.

In vitro studies, aqueous extract of leaves of plants namely Karu (Roylea elegans), Artemisia (Artemisia roxburghiana), Neem (Azadirachta indica), Bana (Vitex negundo), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) and seed of Darek (Melia azedarach) were found effective in inhibiting the growth of the B. dothidea causing white rot in apple. These botanicals were mixed together and formulations were made in water (Botanical Formulations 1) and Cow urine (Botanical Formulations 2) on weight and volume basis.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of crude and different solvent extract of Leaf of Lantana camara, an aggressive invasive weed against plant pathogenic fungi Colletorichum falcatum causing Red rot of sugarcane disease under in vitro conditions. Aqueous crude extract and solvent extracts such as extracts Methanol, Ethyl acetate, Chloroform were tested at 2mg/mL, 4mg/mL and 8mg/mL concentrations. Results revealed that all the 3 solvent extracts showed significant inhibition at higher concentrations when compared to the Standard Fluconazole (15μg/ml).

Piperine is a natural alkaloid with a wide range of biological functions. Natural phenolic compounds existed in many essential oils (EOs) are plant-derived aroma compounds with broad range of biological activities, however, their actions are slow, and they are typically unstable to light or heat, difficult to extract and so on.
