A field study was conducted on irrigation efficiency and water production function in wheat crop at SVCAET and RS IGKV Raipur (C.G). The treatment included were four main treatments of method of Raised bed furrow irrigation M1 (15 cm furrow depth), M2 (20 cm furrow depth), M3 (25 cm furrow depth) and M4 (border irrigation system (control)) under the three sub-treatments of maximum allowable depletion (MAD) T1 (Irrigation at 40% MAD),T2 (Irrigation at 50% MAD) and T3(Irrigation at 60% MAD ) in four row crop.

Field experiment was conducted at Agronomy and ACRIP Research Block, Department of Agronomy, Agricultural College and Research Institute, (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore) Madurai during kharif season, 2007, to study the influence of rice variety, hybrid, irrigation regimes under raised bed and drip fertigation. The study revealed that growth and yield contributing characters were higher in CO(R)H 3 with raised bed (RB) 120cm bed width (BW) – Maintaining water in furrow and recorded highest grain yield of 6.452 t ha-1 .

Onion has very shallow root system that is frequently irrigated and fertilized with high fertilizer dose rates to maximize yield. Converting from furrow-fertigated to microsprinkler fertigated onion production may reduce fertilizer needs. The influence of fertigation sources and their levels, applied through microsprinkler irrigation on winter onion (Allium cepa L.) was evaluated for the years 2009-2011 under semi-arid region of India.

Farmers participatory research was conducted at Viluppuram district in sugarcane crop to find out the feasibility of Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative (SSI) promotion in tank fed irrigated area under the World Bank funded TN-IAMWARM Project. The OFT’s were conducted in 10 farmers holdings at 5 villages with 3 treatments viz., conventional method, sett planting with Sub surface drip irrigation (SSDI) and Sustainable Sugarcane initiative (SSI) during 2011-14.
