Gabor filter

Periodic structural health survey is an important task to ensure the safety and serviceability of buildings. This study aims at developing a computer vision tool to segment images capturing surface of reinforced concrete structures. The image processing technique of Gabor filter is used with k-Means clustering algorithm and principal component analysis to automatically segment damages on concrete surface including spall, crack, bughole, and stain.

In the manufacturing field of sheet products, such as paper, cigarette package, packing box, printed circuit board (PCB), solar silicon chip and so on, the detection of laminated sheet is an essential part. The precision of the counting directly affects the economic benefit of the factory and the subsequent production operation. In order to reduce the high cost and noise in mechanical paper counters, paper counting algorithms based on the gray value difference of paper have been applied and tested to solve these problems based only on vision signals.

This article implements a face detection process as a preliminary step to monitor the state of drowsiness on vehicle's drivers. We propose an algorithm for pre-detection based on image processing and machine learning methods. A Gabor filter bank is used for facial features extraction.
