Indian Farming system comprising multi-faceted dependence of nature, constraints are inevitable, Constraints in the system of agriculture are natural, which requires utmost care, caution and prevention. An understanding of these constraints will pave way in decision making by every farmer for the prospects and policy maker for further development. Hence an attempt is made to analyse the constraints of Integrated farming system (IFS) in select Agro-Climatic Zones of Karnataka State.

The present study was conducted in two agro-climatic zones; Central plain zone (CPZ) and Western plain zone (WPZ) of Punjab having maximum number of dairy animals according to 20th livestock census. The data were collected by using well structured interview schedule from 300 dairy farmers of CPZ and WPZ. Garrett‟s ranking technique was used to prioritize the different sets of constraints in terms of their mean score.

The present study was carried out in Dharwad and Belagavi districts of North Karnataka to study the constraints in production, consumption and marketing of fish. For this purpose, multistage random sampling procedure was adopted for the selection of the ultimate unit of samples. The paper attempts to give an account of fresh water algae as an indicator of water quality. Eight lakes of Mysore have been studied. The Palmers Index IDSELS Diatom index and OMNIDA software, were used for calculated and analysed. The order of tolerance to organic pollution was calculated using the Garrett ranking techniques. According to Palmer index all the eight lakes were organically polluted. Bogadi Lake was least polluted and Karanji Lakes and Mandakahalli Lake were polluted. The present investigation compares the use of old and new techniques of detecting the water quality.

Climatic variability has the potential to affect countries highly dependent upon agriculture, resulting in food shortages, among other consequences.
