For the first time, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) was produced in gas phase process with a new fluidized bed concept where the solids are dispersed phase and the gas is bulk phase as opposed to conventional fluidized bed reactors (FBRs). With this concept, UHMWPE with average molecular weights about 1-6,9 × 10 6 g moles −1 were produced with a commercial supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst by using a gas phase mini semibatch reactor system.

In this paper, the thermal model of butt joint in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is constructed and simulated based on ANSYS software to obtain welding temperature field. Low carbon steel with temperature-dependent thermal properties due to very high welding temperature is considered. Volumetric heat source is determined through series equations for different welding conditions.

In Vietnam, sulfur is a by-product of the oil and gas production process of Dung Quat oil refinery with an output of 18 tons per day. This output is expected to increase in the future and in other refineries produce. This study investigated some properties of SBB and HMAS according to the sulfur / bitumen ratio using materials in Vietnamese conditions and the variation of these properties of SBB, HMAS in different time to determine the appropriate time for sample maintenance before testing the mechanical properties.

Mango fruit Cv. Kesar were exposed to ethylene gas (100 ppm) for 12, 18 and 24 hrs in fruit ripening chamber and were then removed from the ripening chamber at the end of exposure period, packed in corrugated fibre board boxes and then kept at ambient condition to study the ripening behaviour. Blades and vanes for gas turbines, usually made of Ni-based superalloys, are exposed at very high temperature in severe oxidation and corrosion environments. Nowadays, thermal barrier coating systems (TBCs) have been applied to protect them against such severe working conditions. In this study, Pt and PtIr diffusion coatings on Ni based single crystal superalloys were fabricated by an electroplating method followed by an annealing heat treatment process. The microstructure and phase constitution of the coatings were studied by SEM/EDS and XRD methods.

Three sweet pepper varieties viz. Swarna, California wonder and Oroballe were treated with derivatives of salicylic acid viz. Acetyl salicylic acid (ASA), 5 Sulpho salicylic acid (5 SSA) and Gentisic acid (GA) at 0.5 mM and 1 mM concentrations under ambient condition (20±5°C) and analyzed for their change in physical and biochemical profile at 3 days interval for 9 days. Fruits treated with 1 mM acetyl salicylic acid and gentisic acid significantly delayed the senescence process by delaying the changes of weight, and firmness.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are chemical compounds that contain aromatic rings and do not contain heteroaryl or substituted groups. PAHs are found in petroleum, coal, and plastics; Moreover, PAHs are also found in foods, especially in cooked or grilled meats. These compounds are pollutants and identified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic in humans. The goal of this paper was to develop a process to analyze the content of 16 common PAHs in grilled pork by mass spectrometry (GC-MS) using standard internal substances.

The sorption capacity index a is proposed as a criterion parameter for assessing the quality of impregnated activated charcoals. It was found that this parameter does not depend on the dynamic conditions during the sorbent test. It was shown that values of the sorption capacity index allow to recommend iodine sorbents for industrial gas cleaning processes.

(BQ) In this paper, working current, working voltage, oil pressure, spark gap Pulse On Time and Pulse Off Time on Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface Finish (Ra) has been studied. Empirical models for MRR and Ra have been developed by conducting a designed experiment based on the Grey Relational Analysis. Genetic Algorithm (GA) based multi-objective optimization for maximization of MRR and minimization of Ra has been done by using the developed empirical models. Optimization results have been used for identifying the machining conditions.

When unfired units are designed with higher steam conditions for combined cycle, multiple-pressure units are usually applied to increase exhaust heat recovery and enhance system performanc The intermediate level may be that required for steam injection fo NOx control and/or a process level. In applications using natural gas, a third pressure level will further enhance overall system performance. Typical design practice is that unfired HRSGs are convective heat exchangers that respond to the exhaust conditions of the gas turbine.
