Auxin plays an important role in regulating plant growth and development as well as in the response of plants to abiotic stresses. Auxin is transported by three kinds of major protein families, including the AUXIN RESISTANT 1/LIKE AUX1 (AUX⁄LAX) influx carriers, the PIN-FORMED (PIN) efflux carriers and the ATP binding cassette B/P-glycoprotein/Multidrug-resistance (ABCB/MDR/PGP) efflux/condition carriers.

Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), is considered a common zoonotic pathogen, causing severe infections. The objective of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial susceptibility, resistance genes and molecular epidemiology among MRSA and methicillinsusceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) isolated from food animals in Sichuan Province, China.

The expressional cassette was integrated into B. subtilis WB800 genome replacing 3’amyE-5’amyE, hindering the native amylase activity of the host. Expression of expected protein was confirmed by electrophoresis SDS-PAGE. From our results, it indicates that gene MTH was expressed successfully in B. subtilis WB800. After 0.5% acetoin induction for 48 h, the data showed that the protein with a molecular mass of ~64 kDa on SDS-PAGE was expressed. The level of recombinant protein in WBpAacoMTH was increased and reached 2.5%, 15.2% and 21.95%, respectively comparing with native B. subtilis WB800.

The western corn rootworm, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera, is a pervasive pest of maize in North America and Europe, which has adapted to current pest management strategies. In advance of an assembled and annotated D. v. virgifera genome, we developed transcriptomic resources to use in identifying candidate genes likely to be involved in the evolution of resistance, starting with members of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family.

Integrons are genomic elements that mediate horizontal gene transfer by inserting and removing genetic material using site-specific recombination. Integrons are commonly found in bacterial genomes, where they maintain a large and diverse set of genes that plays an important role in adaptation and evolution.

We performed an in-depth analysis of the ABC gene family in Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae), which is an important vector species of arthropod-borne viral infections such as chikungunya, dengue, and Zika. Despite its importance, previous studies of the Arthropod ABC family have not focused on this species.

The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily is comprised predominantly of proteins which directly utilize energy from ATP to move molecules across the plasma membrane. Although they have been the subject of frequent investigation across many taxa, arthropod ABCs have been less well studied.

The recent release of the reference genome sequence assembly of flax, a self-pollinated crop with 15 chromosome pairs, into chromosome-scale pseudomolecules enables the characterization of gene families. The ABC transporter and HMA gene families are important in the control of cadmium (Cd) accumulation in crops.

Transportation of pigment precursors or related metabolites from cytoplasm to subcellular pigment granules is one of the key steps in insect pigmentation and usually executed via such transporter proteins as the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transmembrane transporters and small G-proteins (e.g. Rab protein).

We have previously developed a rice-based oral vaccine against cholera diarrhea, MucoRice-CTB. Using Agrobacterium-mediated co-transformation, we produced the selection marker–free MucoRice-CTB line 51A, which has three copies of the cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) gene and two copies of an RNAi cassette inserted into the rice genome.

Aspergillus oryzae, a safe filamentous fungus, is widely used in food and enzyme production. In this study, we examined a cultivation model using rice husks as carrier to assess the capacity of recombinant protein production in A. oryzae. The model was first tested with the A. oryzae strain expressing the DsRed reporter gene. The expression of DsRed was easily detected by the pink color of the fungal mycelium on culture media and under a fluorescence microscope. The model was then evaluated with the phyA gene encoding a phytase from the fungus Aspergillus fumigatus.

Cloning and expression of recombinant VP2 capsid protein gene of canine parvovirus in E. coli System
In the present study, new CPV-2a field strain (KLD3) isolated in cell culture was selected and the whole CPV VP2 gene was used for the expression in the E. coli expression system. Prokaryote expressing monocistronic DNA cassette containing open reading frame of whole CPV capsid gene (VP2) downstream of T7 promoter was synthesized. Analysis of the expression in E. coli cells showed the presence of capsid protein. Recombinant capsid protein showed immunoreactivity similar to the whole CPV virus antigen, when reacted with polyclonal antibodies against the whole CPV virus particles.
