Resveratrol has demonstrated its ability to regulate BRCA1 gene expression in breast cancer cells, and previous studies have established the binding of MBD proteins to BRCA1 gene promoter regions. The aimed to evaluate the impact of MBD proteins on the regulation of BRCA1, BRCA2, and p16 genes and their consequential effects on breast cancer cells.

We aimed to screen novel gene signatures for ovarian cancer (OC) and explore the role of biomarkers in OC via regulating pyroptosis using bioinformatics analysis. The proliferation, migration, and invasion were determined using cell counting kit and transwell assay. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was applied to measure infammatory factors. The mRNA and protein expression were detected using real-time quantitative PCR and western blot.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a high mortality rate, and the mechanisms underlying tumor development and progression remain unclear. However, inactivated tumor suppressor genes might play key roles. DNA methylation is a critical regulatory mechanism for inactivating tumor suppressor genes in HCC.

Methylation of the promoters of SHOX2 and RASSF1A (LungMe®) exhibits promise as a potential molecular biomarker for diagnosing lung cancer. This study sought to assess the aberrant methylation of SHOX2 and RASSF1A in broncho-exfoliated cells (BEC) and compare it with conventional cytology, histology examination, immunohistochemistry, and serum tumor markers to evaluate the overall diagnostic efficiency for lung cancer.

This study aims to identify functionally relevant lncRNAs impacting OS proliferation and lipid metabolism and seeks to shed light on the upstream regulatory mechanisms governing lipogenic enzyme activity. Based on comprehensive bioinformatic analysis and the establishment of a risk model, we identified seven lncRNAs signifcantly associated with clinical characteristics and lipid metabolism-related genes in patients with OS.

Ebook "Innate immunity of plants, animals, and humans" wants to give an overview of our current knowledge about the innate immune system of plants, animals and humans. It not only covers the innate immune mechanisms and responses of so diverse organisms such as plants, Cnidaria, Drosophila, urochordates and zebrafish, but also the major receptor systems in mammalians and humans as well as the central defense mechanisms, antimicrobial peptides and the complement system.

In ebook "Genome instability in cancer development" studies on animal tumour viruses and chromosome rearrangements in human tumours have concurred to identify so-called ‘proto-oncogenes’ and ‘tumour suppressor genes’, whose deregulation promotes carcinogenesis. These important findings not only explain the occurrence of certain hereditary tumours, but they also set the stage for the development of anti-cancer drugs that specifically target activated oncogenes.

There are many evidences showing the fact that some hard conditions from environment, namely abiotic stress, could make several significantly negative impacts on crop production. However, some plant species can overcome these bad situations by complicated mechanisms. This study has shown the result of the construction the recombinant vector carrying CodA gene which could encode an enzyme, named choline oxidase, and is controlled by Rd29A promoter.

Tissue-specific integrative omics has the potential to reveal new genic elements important for developmental disorders. Methods: Two pediatric patients with global developmental delay and intellectual disability phenotype underwent array-CGH genetic testing, both showing a partial deletion of the DLG2 gene. From independent human and murine omics datasets, we combined copy number variations, histone modifications, developmental tissue-specific regulation, and protein data to explore the molecular mechanism at play.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) represent a heterogeneous group of cancers for which human papilloma virus (HPV) infection is an emerging risk factor. Previous studies showed promoter hypermethylation in HPV(+) oropharyngeal cancers, but only few consistent target genes have been so far described, and the evidence of a functional impact on gene expression is still limited.
