This study primary research of homestead in Shatapru and it is to illustrate environmental highlight on home gardens in Shatapru. As traditional history, homestead is the backbone of almost all indigenous societies. Homestead products contain rich amount of diets. Fruits and vegetables from homesteads provide seasonally needs for human body and mental happiness.

To evaluate the prospect of small-scale protected cultivation unit in homestead areas for growing off-season vegetables, low-cost bamboo made structures were constructed at Dhalaguri and Uttar Chokowakheti villages in the sub-Himalayan Terai region of West Bengal, India. Five crops, namely, cucumber, capsicum, coriander leaf, spinach beet and cauliflower were grown in different seasons during the period 2016-17.

The present study was conducted with the objective to study the sociological characteristics of farmers adopting plant protection technique in West Bengal. This study was conducted on 120 farmersin 12villages from 3 blocks of Paschim Medinipur district viz. Suttchara, Gogram, Mundumari and Bajpur villages from Pingla block, Chakbadalpur, Banhola, Nandapura and khunkhunya villages from Sabang block and Tutranga, Tulya Chak, Barkhabad, Baicha villages from Narayangarh block.

A case study was conducted by Agricultural Extension Education Center, Koppal with an innovative ground nut grower and small scale entrepreneur for a period of two years. Cold press oil extraction unit established by the farmer could successfully extract 3.60 tons of oil seeds in a month with a net savings of Rs. 16485. The unit became self sustain in a span of one year and could generate employment of 365 man days. The consumers are satisfied with the quality and purity of oil which they purchased for consumption.

India is major fruit producing country in the world after china. India have rich fruit diversity in tropical, subtropical and temperate regions. Some of the fruits like Guava, pomegranate, lemon, acid lime, mandarin etc., give various flowering flushes throughout the year if left without any treatment. These crop shows three distinct flowering seasons i.e. February-March (AmbeBahar), June-July (MrigBahar) and October-November (HastaBahar) with the corresponding harvest period during rainy (June – July), winter (November- December) and spring season(February- March), respectively.

Within horticulture, vegetable production is considered important for agricultural development and the economy of the country as it generates more income and employment and promotes equity when marketing is done rightly. The present study was undertaken to examine the trends, relationship, as well as seasonal fluctuations in arrivals and prices of selected vegetables in Baijnath, regulated market of district Kangra in Himachal Pradesh for the year2010-11 to 2015-16.
