Xem 1-20 trên 36 kết quả Genetic advance as percent of mean
  • Thirty seven rice genotypes were evaluated for their variability with regards to yield and yield components. Estimates of heritability and genetic advance in percent of mean were also obtained for the above traits. All the characters under study except days to fifty percent flowering exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance as per cent of mean, which indicated that these traits were controlled by additive type of gene action in the inheritance of these characters.

  • The success of most crop improvement programs depends on variability and heritability of desirable traits. An investigation was carried out during kharif 2016 at Botanical garden, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, India to assess the extent of variability generated by hybridization and to estimate the heritability and genetic advance as percent of mean for seed cotton yield and its component traits in F2 generation of cross QTP 16 × ASa 151. The segregating population thus obtained was evaluated for eight quantitative traits.

  • Variability studies were carried out for different characters of groundnut derived from four crosses viz., Kadri-9 x GPBD-4, ICGV-00351 x GPBD-4, Kadri-9 x Sunoleic-95R, ICGV-00351 x Sunoleic-95R. Results revealed that the presence of moderate to high PCV and GCV for most of the traits, further a high heritability coupled with high genetic advance was also observed for these traits indicating the involvement of additive gene action in controlling these traits making selection effective.

  • Twelve varieties of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill.) were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications for variability, heritability and genetic advance during kharif 2013 and 2014. Observations on ten agronomic along with five morphological characters were observed. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the genotypes for the all the characters. High PCV coupled with high GCV, observed for number of primary branches per plant, number of nodes per plant, plant height and seed yield per plant.

  • Ninety-three early generation sugarcane clones were evaluated for different morphological and juice quality characters among early generation sugarcane clones. Highest genotypic coefficient of variance (GCV) and phenotypic coefficient of variance (PCV) were recorded for Number of millable cane (NMC) and single cane weight respectively. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as percent of means was observed for germination percent, NMC/hectare, cane height and inter node length. It indicated that direct selection of those traits would be effective.

  • What is an important food crop in India but of the entire world. The study indicates that the analysis of the variance showed highly significant differences for all the characters. Genetic variability indicated that high estimates of GCV and PCV were observed for the traits like 1000 grain weight, grains per spike, spikelets per spike, spike length and yield per plot. Further, high heritability coupled with high genetic advance as percent of mean was also observed, indicating the less influence of environmental variance in these characters.

  • Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance as percent of mean for 12 characters were assessed by field evalution observed for all the characters considered for the study. The analysis of variance indicated presence of significant variability among the genotypes for all the characters. Moderate GCV and higher PCV values indicated presence of substantial genetic variability and less environmental influence for average dry fruit weight, dry fruit yield per plant, and capsaicin content.
