Tackling multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli requires evidence from One Health studies that capture numerous potential reservoirs in circumscribed geographic areas. Methods: We conducted a survey of extended β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing E. coli isolated from patients, canals and livestock wastewater in eastern Thailand between 2014 and 2015, and analyzed isolates using whole genome sequencing.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is highly prevalent among Indigenous Australians, especially those in remote regions. The Tiwi population has been isolated from mainland Australia for millennia and exhibits unique genetic characteristics that distinguish them from other Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations.

: The main goal of this work was to relate the germinative ecology and genetic variability of Chaerolhyllum aureum L., an Apiaceae plant with dormant, underdeveloped embryos at the time of seed dispersal. We compared the seed germination physiology traits between a relictic geographically isolated Mediterranean population (Iberian System; central Spain) and a population located in the main, colder Atlantic Alpine core (Pyrenees; northern Spain). We analyzed both populations’ genetic identity in parallel on the basis of ISSR–PCR analyses.

Cocci-shaped Sporosarcina strains are currently one of the few known cocci-shaped spore-forming bacteria, yet we know very little about the genomics. The goal of this study is to utilize comparative genomics to investigate the diversity of cocci-shaped Sporosarcina strains that differ in their geographical isolation and show different nutritional requirements.

Understanding how and why genetic variation is partitioned across geographic space is of fundamental importance to understanding the nature of biological species. How geographical isolation and local adaptation contribute to the formation of ecotypically differentiated groups of plants is just beginning to be understood through population genomic studies. We used whole genome sequencing combined with association study of climate to discover the drivers of differentiation in the perennial C4 grass Panicum hallii.

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in developing countries. Drug resistance, a huge problem in this contagious disease, is driven by point mutations in the Mycobacterium tuberculosis genome however, their frequencies vary geographically and this affects applicability of molecular diagnostics for rapid detection of resistance.

In the present study collected twenty (20) direct sown paddy rhizosphere soil samples from four districts of Andhra Pradesh and recorded their geographical position of collected soil samples. From that thirty two (32) Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria (ZnSB) isolated by using zinc phosphate [Zn3(PO4)2] as a insoluble source of zinc in the trismineral salts media. Zinc solubilizing isolates coded based on their soil sample collected geographical position, recorded the morphological, cultural characteristics of ZnSB.

The continuous presence of the pathogen in the orchard throughout the season has led to many fold speculations on possible survival of the pathogen on some alternate hosts grown in and around the garden. Severity of incidence and losses varies among different isolates and influenced by existing climatic conditions and geographical distribution (Mondal and Sharma, 2009; Mondal and Singh, 2009; Petersen et al., 2007; Mondal et al., 2012).

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini is a serious disease of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.). Ten isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. cumini were isolated from major cumin growing districts of Gujarat state to compare molecular methods over traditional for differentiation among the isolates of pathogen. The average 98.70 % of polymorphism was recorded for all the 11 ISSR primers. The polymorphic information content (PIC) value ranged from 0.571 to 0.831 with an average of 0.739 per primer. The IISR primers grouped majority of the isolates based on their geographical location.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammation of the periodontium which progresses to bone resorption and tooth loss in the event of delayed or lack of treatment. Chronic periodontitis is recognized as the most frequently occurring form of periodontitis which is mainly attributed to the presence of Gram negative anaerobic organisms in the sub gingival plaque of these patients. However there are wide differences in the proportion of type of microorganisms in different geographical areas attributed to ethnicity, dietary habits and socio economic status.

The genetic diversity among eight chilli S. rolfsii isolates collected from eight districts covering various geographic areas of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state were analysed using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) using five random primers. Size of DNA fragments amplified by the five primers ranged from 0.1 Kb to 10 Kb indicating polymorphism among S. rolfsii isolates. RAPD banding profiles with five different random primers viz.

Panax L. is a medicinally important genus within family Araliaceae, where almost all species are of cultural significance for traditional Chinese medicine. Previous studies suggested two independent origins of the East Asia and North America disjunct distribution of this genus and multiple rounds of whole genome duplications (WGDs) might have occurred during the evolutionary process.

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is considered as the most common bacterial infectious disease seen among the pediatric patients. Pediatric urinary tract infections are associated with high morbidity and long term complications like renal scaring, hypertension and chronic renal failure The epidemiology of UTI during childhood varies by age, gender and other factors (Bickerton and Ducket, 1985). Most commonly bacteria causes of UTI in children are members of Enterobacteriaceae, particularly uropathogenic strains of E. coli and Klebsiella spp.
