Single-cell analysis is a powerful tool for dissecting the cellular composition within a tissue or organ. However, it remains difficult to detect rare and common cell types at the same time. Here, we present a new computational method, GiniClust2, to overcome this challenge.

High-throughput single-cell technologies have great potential to discover new cell types; however, it remains challenging to detect rare cell types that are distinct from a large population. We present a novel computational method, called GiniClust, to overcome this challenge.

This paper examines the impact of trade on household income inequality (measured using Gini index) under the condition of disaster (measured using various proxies). The paper uses panel regression on a balanced dataset of 48 countries for 2011-2017 to estimate the impacts, with data combined from World Development Indicators, World Income Inequality Database, and World Risk Report.

The paper aims to identify the structure of the export market for Acacia wooden furniture products, simultaneously determine the fundamentals of forming the market structure and propose marketing solutions for market development. The inequality index (GINI) and the concentration ratio (CR) were used to analyze the market structure.

– The study explores the relationship among economic growth, population growth, gross savings and energy consumption over the period 1987-2017. The autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds test approach by Pesaran et al. (2001) was employed to investigate variables for the study.

Compound selectivity is an important issue when developing a new drug. In many instances, a lack of selectivity can translate to increased toxicity. Protein kinases are particularly concerned with this issue because they share high sequence and structural similarity. However, selectivity may be assessed early on using data generated from protein kinase profiling panels.

This paper uses a two-stage least squares (2SLS) model and two different financial inclusion index to examine the impact of financial inclusion on income inequality in 22 transition economies over 11 years from 2005 to 2015. The paper finds that there was a negative relationship between the financial inclusion index and the GINI coefficient. The paper also suggests some policy recommendations to reduce income inequality through developing financial inclusion.

Variable selection in discriminant analysis may be used to identify those variables which are most relevant for use in allocating future observation. It is also expected to reduce the cost of experimentation and conditional error rate by increasing the ratio of the training sample size to the dimension. Thus, feature Selection has become important task in classification and discriminant analysis.

The performances of different types of banks may vary due to heterogeneous technology, which can be examined by metafrontier analysis. However, the metafrontier constructed in most existing literature is concave, resulting in a biased estimation of efficiency.
