In this paper, two silica-based geopolymer matrix systems reinforced composites were synthesized and fabricated at optimal conditions. The composites contained approximately 40 wt.% of Carbon HTA twill (TohoTenax) and 48 wt.% of advanced S-glass twill (Saint-Gobain, Vetrotex), respectively.

The paper presents the analytical and experimental investigation to predict strength of concrete-filled glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) circular tubes reinforced internally with six GFRP bars (10mm nominal diameter) under axial load and four-point bending. The experimental studies included four GFRP bar-reinforced GFRP tube specimens with 134mm outer diameter and 536mm length, two concrete-filled GFRP cylinder tubes with height of 300mm.

This study proposes a photonic crystal fiber made of fused silica glass, with the core infiltrated with chloroform as a new source of supercontinuum (SC) spectrum. The characteristics of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) with various air hole diameters infiltrated with alcoholic liquids such as ethanol, methanol, propanol and butanol are numerically investigated. Based on the numerical results, we have analyzed and compared in detail the characteristics of these fibers including effective refractive index, effective mode area, dispersion and confinement loss for two sets of parameters {d,Λ} = {1 µm,5 µm} and {1.42 µm, 3.26 µm}, with d the air hole diameter and Λ the lattice constant, respectively.

In this paper, we report a numerical calculation of the influence of structural parameters on the supercontinuum generation of photonic crystal fibers. A photonic crystal fiber based on the fused silica glass, eight rings of air holes ordered in a hexagonal lattice, is proposed. Guiding properties in terms of dispersion and confinement loss of the fundamental mode are also studied numerically. As a result, the broadband width of the supercontinuum spectrum will increase when the lattice pitch decreases or the diameter of air hole in the cladding increases.

In present work hybrid composite laminated plate is prepared by mixing Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Graphene powder in glass fiber reinforced composite plates. The hand lay-up process has been adopted for preparing the composite plates. The antisymmetric cross ply (00 /900 /00 /900 ) composite laminated plates are considered for analysis.
