Glass textile

The integration of textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) and reinforced concrete (RC) has recently emerged as a promising strategy for developing hybrid structures. This study investigates the flexural behaviour of a hybrid deck structure comprising a TRC-permanent formwork and RC components.

This paper presents an experimental investigation into the tensile strength degradation in curved glass and carbon reinforcement of TRC specimens. The results show that the ultimate tensile load decreases as the diameter of the semi-circle parts reduce. At the same diameter, the carbon TRC specimens have a higher tensile load-bearing capacity than glass textile-reinforced concrete.

Textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) is a new composite material made of highstrength textiles embedded within fine grained concrete (FGC). The application of TRC leads to the design of thin and slender structures or for repairing and strengthening of existing structural members. Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is an ultra-lightweight concrete, which can be combined with high strength TRC to form some kinds of precast curtain panels in construction.

Other materials which may be extracted from MBT processes include glass, textiles, paper / card, and plastics. The most common of these is glass, which may be segregated with other inert materials such as stones and ceramics. These materials are typically segregated and arise as the “dense” fraction from air classifiers or ballistic separation (see Table 2 on mechanical waste preparation technologies). This dense fraction could find application for use as a low grade aggregate; however this would be subject to achieving a suitable quality material.
