CD13 (APN) is an Alanyl-Aminopeptidase with diverse functions. The role of CD13 for gliomas is still unknown. In this study, data of glioma patients obtained by TCGA and CGGA databases were used to evaluate the survival rate and prognostic value of CD13 expression level. Protein expression of CD13 was confirmed by immunofluorescence staining of fresh patient tissues.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive malignant central nervous system tumor with a poor prognosis. The malignant transformation of glioma cells via epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) has been observed as a main obstacle for glioblastoma treatment. Epithelial membrane protein 3 (EMP3) is significantly associated with the malignancy of GBM and the prognosis of patients.

Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA, liquid biopsy) is a powerful tool to detect molecular alterations. However, depending on tumor characteristics, biology and anatomic localization, cfDNA detection and analysis may be challenging. Gliomas are enclosed into an anatomic sanctuary, which obstacles the release of cfDNA into the peripheral blood.

IKBIP promotes tumor development via the akt signaling pathway in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. Inhibitor of kappa B kinase interacting protein (IKBIP) has been reported to promote glioma progression, but its role in other cancers remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the role of IKBIP and its underlying molecular mechanisms in ESCC.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is a relatively prevalent primary tumor of the central nervous system in children, characterized by its high malignancy and mortality rates, along with the intricate challenges of achieving complete surgical resection. This study embarks on the task of evaluating the effectiveness of MZ1, an inhibitor of BRD4 meticulously designed to specifically target SEs, within the intricate framework of GBM.

Glioblastoma is the most frequent and a particularly malignant primary brain tumor with no efficacy-proven standard therapy for recurrence. It has recently been discovered that excitatory synapses of the AMPA-receptor subtype form between non-malignant brain neurons and tumor cells.

Macrophages are the most common infiltrating immune cells in gliomas and play a wide variety of pro-tumor and anti-tumor roles. However, the different subpopulations of macrophages and their effects on the tumor microenvironment remain poorly understood.

The activation of the telomere maintenance mechanism (TMM) is one of the critical drivers of cancer cell immortality. In gliomas, TERT expression and TERT promoter mutation are considered to reliably indicate telom‑ erase activation, while ATRX mutation and/or loss indicates an alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT). However, these relationships have not been extensively validated in tumor tissues.

Pyroptosis is a programmed cell death mediated by the gasdermin superfamily, accompanied by inflammatory and immune responses. Exogenously activated pyroptosis is still not well characterized in the tumor microenvironment. Furthermore, whether pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in lower-grade glioma (LGG) may be used as a biomarker remains unknown.

Glioma is primary brain tumour with a poor prognosis. Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of glioma, and is critical in the development of antiglioma agents and glioma therapy. Cuproptosis is a novel form of cell death mediated by protein lipidation and highly associated with mitochondrial metabolism.

Gliomas are the most common malignant brain tumors, with powerful invasiveness and an undesirable prognosis. Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 5 (ARPC5) encodes a component of the Arp2/3 protein complex, which plays a significant role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton.

Melanoma differentiation-associated gene 7 (Mda-7) encodes IL-24, which can induce apoptosis in cancer cells. A novel gene therapy approach to treat deadly brain tumors, recombinant mda-7 adenovirus (Ad/ mda-7) efficiently kills glioma cells. In this study, we investigated the factors affecting cell survival and apoptosis and autophagy mechanisms that destroy glioma cells by Ad/IL-24.

The aquaporin (AQP) family of proteins has been implicated in the proliferation and growth of gliomas. Expression of AQP8 is higher in human glioma tissues than in normal brain tissues and is positively correlated with the pathological grade of glioma, suggesting that this protein is also involved in the proliferation and growth of glioma.

Low-grade glioma (LGG) is susceptible to ferroptosis, which is involved in TMZ resistance. Ferroptosis induction can enhance the sensitivity to TMZ and synergistically kill glioma cells. T cell-promoted tumor ferroptosis is a vital anti-tumor mechanism of immune checkpoint inhibitors.
