In order to study, the influence of drought imposed at different growth stages, and the impact of foliar applied glycine betaine (GB) and proline on the status of osmolytes and antioxidant defense system of pea plant during pod filling stage, a field experiment was conducted in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 on clay loam soil.

The aim of this study was to confirm the presence of BADH gene and control whether it plays an important role to protect white clover (Trifolium repens L.) against oxidative, salt, and drought stresses. Three genotypes possessing BADH and 1 genotype lacking BADH were selected, considering the expression levels of BADH in response to methyl viologen mediated oxidative stress. The genotypes possessing BADH displayed significantly less ion leakage under oxidative stress treatment, compared to that lacking BADH.

The present study focused on the influence of low pH on growth, specific biochemical parameters and antioxidants amongst Nostoc strains grown under control (pH 7.0) and low pH (pH 4.5) medium. Cell dry weight, chlorophyll content, total soluble proteins and extracellular ammonia release reduced due to low pH stress of growing media compared to control grown cultures. Present investigation was carried out in the rainout shelter at Student Instructional Farm (SIF), Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) during Kharif (wet season) 2015 and 2016. An attempt was made to screen forty native AM fungal isolates from the soybean rhizosphere of Belagavi and Dharwad districts based on their peroxidise activity and total dry matter accumulation in soybean under the restricted water regime of -500 kPa. Top three fungal isolates viz., UASDAMFS15, UASDAMFS25 and UASDAMFS36 tentatively identified as G. maculosum, G. manihotis and G. globiferum respectively.
