This study examines supply chain power in the context of real earnings management. Accrualbased models are often used to examine the motives of managers in conducting discretionary accruals. Discretionary accruals by managers has a very broad impact and may mislead users of financial statements. This study analyses and examines the effect of company profitability on discretionary accruals, especially in emerging markets in Indonesia.

The study examines the effect of financial leverage and dividend payments on firm value using a sample of 29 listed real estate firms from the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX). By employing the Ordinary Least Square (OLS), Two-stage Least Square (2SLS), and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation methods, we obtain robust evidence of the positive effect of leverage and dividend distribution on real estate sector corporate value.

This research examines the effect of tourism on poverty alleviation in Vietnam using panel data from 63 provinces from 2010 to 2021. By employing various estimation methods such as Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Fixed Effect (FE), Random Effect (RE), and Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), this study provides empirical evidence of the positive influence of tourism on poverty reduction in Vietnam.

This paper investigates whether this is the case for 60 Vietnamese provinces for the time-period 1999-2010, using a system-GMM estimator and a Solow growth model augmented with human and physical capital and spatial lag covariates. We report that spatial dependence is a significant determinant of growth and conditional convergence in Vietnamese provinces. We also demonstrate that the rate of convergence decreases as the distancebetween neighbouring provinces increases.

This study utilizes the gravity model and various estimation methods such as OLS, FGLS, and GMM to analyze the effects of bilateral trade and other factors on migration flows in ASEAN countries. Specifically, the study examines the impacts of population, gross domestic product per capita, rule of law, human development index, and the contiguous border between two countries.

The objective of the paper is to examine the effect of exports on the economic growth of Khanh Hoa province. The study used table data with secondary sources and applied regression estimation method of table data and 3SLS-GMM. The results show that exports have a positive effect on growth and spillover effects on other economic sectors.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between energy-resource depletion, health and the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis in the panel for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries over 2005- 2017 period. To sturdy inferences, the panel Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) approach was employed to estimate the model’s parameters.

The Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is one of powerful approaches to model data that is heterogeneous and stems from multiple populations. However, in some certain situations, a part of dataset is unobservable owing to censoring problem. This problem refers to the fact that the value of a measurement or observation is only partially known.

This paper investigates the impact of governance characteristics on financial performance of companies listed on Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. By employing system generalized method of moments (SGMM) estimator and a panel dataset covering 152 firms over a period from 2011 to 2016, our results confirm that corporate governance characteristics, viz. the size of board and block-holder ownership, do affect firms’ financial performance in Vietnam.

The purpose of this paper was to empirically assess the impact of oil prices on ASEAN+3 inflation and economic growth. The framework that can be applied to linear dynamic panel data to achieve this goal is the First Difference-Generalized Moment Method (FD-GMM) estimator method. This study used panel data representing ASEAN+3 countries and annual data over the period 2011-2020. The findings of the study indicated that, over the period, increasing oil prices were associated with higher inflation, and higher economic growth in ASEAN+3.

The main purpose of this study is to determine whether renewable energy consumption has a positive effect on economic growth for selected developing countries (Brazil, India, Indonesia, China, Chile, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey). Fossil energy consumption and CO2 emissions variables are also included in the model established for this purpose. GMM estimator, one of the dynamic panel data methods, was used for empirical analysis of the relationship between these variables.

This study uses the general method of moments (GMM) ArellanoBond estimator to empirically investigate the effect of FDI inflows on private investment in the Southeast region from 2005 to 2018. The FE-IV estimator is employed to check the robustness of the estimates. The results show that FDI inflows crowd in private investment in this area. In addition, inflation increases private investment but infrastructure decreases it.

This paper is an effort to see how the crisis affected the level of efficiency and the process of insurance integration in the European Union. It uses Stochastic Frontier Analysis to estimate cost efficiency for a sample of 947 nonlife insurance firms operating in 24 European countries for the period 2006- 2014. In a second stage a two-step system Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) is used to examine cost efficiency convergence by looking at β-convergence and σconvergence criteria.

The panel vector auto regression model is estimated using three main variables related to with profitability, financial liquidity, and financial leverage for 94 manufacturing companies from 2000 to 2017 in Indonesia. The aim is to examine the impact of oil price shocks on the ROA (profitability), CR (financial liquidity), and DER (financial leverage). The impulse reaction function of samples reveals some remarkable results. First, the response of ROA, DER, and CR appears to be consistent in many ways. Second, either Brent oil or WTI oil gives the same result for these variables.

The study applies quantitative method on non-balanced panel samples of Vietnamese listed firms which are extracted from the Thomson Reuters database and manually collected from companies’ annual reports. All the regressions are estimated by Generalized Least Squared (GLS) method to fix the heteroscedasticity problem and robusted by Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) for endogeneitity potential.

In this paper, we study different impacts on Chinese banks’ SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) investment of different impact factors. We employ GMM method to estimate different impacts of above factors by making use of a panel data of 113 Chinese banks’ SPV investment in 7 years. Our sample consists of 5 large commercial banks (LCBs), 8 national joint-stock commercial banks (NJSCBs), 45 city commercial banks (CCBs) and 55 rural commercial banks (RCBs).

The authors use panel data from 2002 to 2014 from 20 emerging markets and use GMM estimators for unbalanced panel data. The results show positive growth effects of fiscal policy across emerging markets in the examined periods. Notably, the improvement in institutions promotes higher crowding-in effects of fiscal policy.

The empirical model bases on a reduced-form equation with national saving as a dependent variable, lagged value of national saving, output gap and fiscal policy as independent variables. The two-step system GMM approach was employed to estimate the empirical model, using a panel of 23 emerging Asian economies in the period of 1990-2015.
