Kidney transplantation (KT) is the most obvious method of treating a patient with end-stage renal disease. In the early stages of KT, urine production is considered a marker of successful reperfusion of the kidney after anastomosis. However, there is no clear conclusion about the relationship between initial urine output after KT and 1-year renal function. Thus, we investigated the factors that affect 1-year kidney function after KT, including urine output.

The propagation of the hibiscus may be carried out with cutting and grafting. Stem cutting and cleft grafting are the most important method of vegetative propagation. The cuttings treated with high concentration of IBA, performed the best in rooting and survival percentage, whereas, the mist house growing condition was found effective in increasing the success rate of the cuttings.

An experiment was conducted during 2019-20 at INS farm -1, SOADU, Bhubaneswar in order to study the variation regarding morphological parameters, plant physiological condition, and survival of the grafts, when different varieties were used as scion material. The experiment consists of five different popular mango varieties namely cv. Mallika, cv. Arka Neelachal Kesari, cv. Arka Puneet, cv. Amrapalli, and cv. Dussehri as scion varieties. One local cv. “Ganga” cultivar was used as rootstock for all the scion varieties and was also used as one of the scion (control).

The role of CD4+ CD25highCD127− T-reg cells in solid-organ Transplant (Tx) acceptance has been extensively studied. In previous studies on kidney and liver recipients, peripheral T-reg cell counts were associated to graft survival, while in lung Tx, there is limited evidence for similar findings. This study aims to analyze long term peripheral kinetics of T-reg-cells in a cohort of lung recipients and tests its association to several clinical variables.

The present study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) failure using a Kerboull-type (KT) plate. The midterm outcomes of revision THA indicate that type of bone graft and bone defect size may affect radiographic survival rate when using a KT plate.

A study was carried out to determine the graft compatibility of bitter gourd scions (Palee F1 and CO 1) with ten different cucurbitaceous rootstocks. The grafting technique adopted in this study was side grafting. Graft compatibility was determined by assessing the survival rate of the grafted plants after regeneration of vascular bundles across the graft interface and vegetative growth of the scion.

An economic analysis of pecan nut plants has been presented through studying their cost and returns under intermediate agro-climatic conditions of Jammu and Kashmir. The study revealed that the total cost of grafting of pecan nut plants up-to their survival was same in all the three methods (₹ 20415.60). After different survival rate of three methods, tongue grafting gave maximum returns (₹ 5384.00) and minimum in side grafting (₹ 484.20).

The better germination per cent of mango (Mangifera indica L.) stones is the criterion and strong base for successful grafts hence to enhance the germination, growth and graft parameters different pre-soaking treatments in mango was carried out. Where Mango stones of Nekkare were obtained from one single lot from a processing unit and were used. The stones were pre-soaked viz., Control, GA3, Silicylic acid, Vermiwash and Cow urine of different concentrations.

Dodder (Cuscuta spp., Convolvulaceae) species are obligate leaf- and rootless parasites that totally depend on hosts to survive. Dodders naturally graft themselves to host stems to form vascular fusion, from which they obtain nutrients and water.

An investigation on “Success of softwood grafting in jamun” was carried out in department of Fruit Science, Kittur Rani Channamma College of horticulture, Arabhavi during year 2015-16. Seven treatments comprised of different age of rootstocks viz., T1 (6 month), T2 (5 and half month), T3 (5 month), T4 (4 and half month), T5 (4 month), T6 (3 and half month) and T7 (3 month) were used for softwood grafting. The influence of age of rootstocks on the graft success and graft survivability at 60 and 90 days after grafting (DAG) did not show significant difference among the treatments.

Fly ash management would remain a great concern all over the world. Several studies indicated that there is an ample scope for safe utilization of fly ash as a soil ameliorant that may improve physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil and is a source of readily available plant micro and macro nutrient. With this concept, a pot culture experiment was carried out at the Horticulture Research Station, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, under naturally ventilated poly house condition during 2017 and 2018.
