The surface of mesocellular silica foam (MCF) was modified by grafting 3-aminopropyl-triethoxysilane (APTES) to have a positive charge, and thus to provide sites for the immobilization of H3PW12O40(PW12). This modified nanosized mesoporous silica (PW12-APTES@MCF) was characterized by FTIR, XRD, BET, and TEM. XRD and adsorption–desorption analysis shows that the mesostructure of silica remains intact after various modifications, while the spectral technique shows the successful grafting of the neat PW12 inside the porous silica support.

Mesostructured cellular foam silica was functionalized by an amino group (MCF-NH2) using the postsynthesis grafting method and utilized as a recyclable catalyst for the Knoevenagel reaction to afford α, β-unsaturated compounds. The catalyst was systematically characterized by various analyses such as nitrogen adsorption, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and Hammett indicator method.

Benign primary bone tumors are commonly treated by surgery involving bone grafts or synthetic bone void fillers. Although synthetic bone grafts may provide early mechanical support while minimizing the risk of donor-site morbidity and disease transmission, difficult handling properties and less than optimal transformation to bone have limited their use.

Citrus fruits belonging to the family Rutaceae, occupies a place of considerable importance in the fruit crop due to high economic returns. Citrus greening is one of the most severe disease of citrus. Citrus greening disease was presumed to originate in china during the 1890 (Graca 1991). It is evident that the citrus disease has emerged as a potential series threat to citrus production in all the citrus growing districts of Maharashtra. It has been proved that in Maharashtra the greening disease is the major causes a decline in citrus production.

Good outcomes have been reported in revision total hip replacement with massive segmental defects using impaction bone grafting with circumferential metal meshes. However, the morphology of defects that require a mesh is poorly defined. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a variety of segmental defects on load transmission to the proximal femur under both axial and rotational loads.

Citrus Yellow Mosaic Virus (CYMV) disease and citrus greening bacterium are two important diseases in citrus. Citrus yellow mosaic virus (CYMV) disease is caused by bacilliform DNA virus while citrus greening disease caused by a fastidious bacterium (Candidatus liberibacter asiaticus) (Cla). Both the pathogens are infected citrus plants may detected by PCR using leaf tissues midrib tissue incase of greening.

Grafting has been widely practiced for centuries in the propagation and production of many vegetable and fruit species. However, the underlying molecular and genetic mechanisms for how the graft partners interact with each other to produce a successful graft remain largely unknown.

A wide range of graft transmissible pathogens (GTPs) of viral, viroid and phytoplasma etiology affect apple trees resulting in diseases with adverse effects in orchards around the globe. The significance of diseases caused by these GTPs on tree health, fruit shape and quality has resulted in the imposition of legislation based quarantine measures at both domestic and international front. Losses resulting from viruses in apple often remain unnoticed as the impact of these pathogens on productivity is evident over a period of time.

Mesta (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is an important commercial fibre crop after cotton and jute, which belong to the family Malvaceae. The crop is mainly grown for a green leafy vegetable purpose in North Karnataka, India. Mesta crop is being affected by many diseases of which leaf curl disease caused by Begomovirus is a main constraint in its production. The disease is observed to be transmitted by different means mainly by whitefly (B. tabaci), dodder (Cuscuta sp.), grafting and sap.

This study introduced a method to produce a thermosensitive nanocomposite hydrogel (nCur-PG) containing curcumin nanoparticles (nCur) which can overcome the poor dissolution of curcumin. Regarding to the method, a thermo-reversible pluronic F127-grafted gelatin (PG) play a role as surfactant to disperse and protect nanocurcumin from aggregation. The synthetic PG was identified by 1H-NMR. The obtained results via Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) indicated that the size of nCur was various in the range from 1.5 ± 0.5 to 128 ± 9.

It has been found for a long time that chitosan (CS) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have outstanding antibacterial activities but there have been some drawbacks restricting a popular usage as such. Consequently, in this research, CS modified was combined with AgNPs with the purpose of expanding applications and enhancing the antibacterial activities.

The number of HIV infections among children has fallen significantly as a result of expanded programmes to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, from 500 000 in 2001 to 370 000 in 2009. As a result UNAIDS has called for the virtual elimination of new HIV infections in children by 2015, a feasible goal if comprehensive programmes to prevent such transmission are expanded and integrated with maternal, newborn and child health, sexual and reproductive health, and other health services, such as HIV treatment and care programmes. Eliminate new hiv infections in children.

Traditional macroeconomic models without financial intermediation describe the transmission mechanism of monetary policy through a single (risk-free) interest rate. As indicated by Meltzer and Nelson 1 , the characterisation of the financial sector in such a simplified manner is likely to miss important elements in the macroeconomic adjustment mechanisms. A key aspect that is absent from the traditional framework is an account of how different interest rates embody time-varying risk premia.
