Salinity is one of the most devastating abiotic stresses limiting crop production. Considering this issue, a pot experiment was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the boro season (2017-2018) using two rice (Oryza sativa L.) varieties, namely BRRI dhan28 (salt sensitive) and BRRI dhan47 (salt tolerant), to assess the effects of varied salinity levels on the growth and the performance of the rice varieties under salt stress conditions.

The objectives of this study were to identify promising rice genotypes and evaluate the genetic variance and effectiveness of selection of the rice varieties for several yield attributing traits. A varietal trial of fifteen rice genotypes was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications in a farmer’s field in Sundarbazar, Lamjung, Nepal during the rainy season of 2018.

In this study, a methodology was created to evaluate the values of the yield stress of materials based on the grain boundary strengthening equation. This method was constructed by observing the average grain size and determining the mechanical properties of three microstructural phases in the weld zone (i.e. based metal, heat-affected zone, and weld metal).

Understanding the genetic complexity of traits is an important objective of small grain temperate cereals yield and adaptation improvements. Bi-parental quantitative trait loci (QTL) linkage mapping is a powerful method to identify genetic regions that co-segregate in the trait of interest within the research population. However, recently, association or linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping using a genome-wide association study (GWAS) became an approach for unraveling the molecular genetic basis underlying the natural phenotypic variation.

The experiment was conducted in experimental Farm, Regional Research Station, Anand Agricultural University from July to November 2018toestimate the extent of variability present in rice genotypes with respect to yield and its component traits. The estimates of genotypic and phenotypic variances for the characters like plant height, effective tillers per plant, number of grains per panicle, grain yield per plant, straw yield per plant, harvest index and 1000 grain weight, genotypic variance contributed larger in phenotypic variance.

Reduced whole rice grain yield due to cracking is one of the major issues that directly reduce income and availability of staple food to the farmers in the Mekong River Delta. The cracking or partial fissuring of rice kernels may occur right in the paddy field due to incorrect harvesting time/practice, improper post-harvest drying conditions and inappropriate milling operations. This project aims to improve the quality and value of the rice, through an integrated approach which encompasses farmers, millers, service providers and extension workers and education institution....

Timely harvest plays an important role in controlling rice cracking. Reduced whole-grain rice bring cracks caused by the loss of value and reduce the income of farmers. field experiments was conducted to study the effect of harvest time around the crack growth of rice plants Head rice yield in seven popular varieties (OM1490, OM2718, OM2517, OM4498, AG24, IR50404 and Jasmine) in three different locations in the two harvest years (2006-2008). There are many factors accounting for losses after rice harvest and occurs as as early as pre-harvest period and the next stage from harvesting to storage. the the appearance of cracks in the rice-harvest period reduces the yield. Grain can be damaged or lost quantity and quality due to inappropriate practice in the sun time, harvest, harvest, dam / mechanical drying, loading / unloading, transport, milling and processing storage conditions. Milling process is an important stage because it produces the final product (white rice). Post production lines of rice.
