Floristic studies play an important role in assessing of plant biodiversity, conservation and sustainable management of ecosystem resources. Therefore, this study tried to determine the floristic composition and socio-economic importance of the Poaceaeflora in the commune of Aguié and Mayahi. We used plot method based on systematic random sampling technique to inventory gramineae species within the parklands in August and September 2012. The grass flora of the two communes is composed of 45 species, divided into 27 genera and 8 tribes in 106 relevés.

Ravine ecosystems are highly dynamic and completely deformatted terrain landscape. In these regions, Indigenous plant species are playing significant role in environmental rehabilitation because of their exultant survival and high adaptation to local conditions. Despite this, very little information’s available about existence of medicinal plants on the typical ravine flora. The present study attempted to explore the diversity and distribution of medicinal plant flora in the Yamuna ravines of Agra (U.P) and Chambal ravines of Kota district (Rajasthan).

Rice production has an important role in Indian economy and transplanting being most common practice adopted in the country. Transplanted rice encounters diverse type of weed flora consisting of grasses, sedges and broad-leafed weeds as well as sedges. Effective control of these weeds at initial stages can ensure in increasing the productivity of this crop. Weed control in transplanted rice by mechanical and cultural methods is quiet expensive. At peak period of crop weed competition due to labour crises weeding gets delayed.

The C4 photosynthetic carbon cycle can be explained as the elaborated addition to the C3 photosynthetic pathway. It is a unique series of biochemical, anatomical and regulatory gene characteristics that concentrate CO2around the carboxylating enzyme Rubisco, thereby increasing photosynthetic efficiency during high rates of photorespiration. The C4 photosynthetic pathway has evolved as an adaptation to high light intensities, high temperatures and dryness, therefore in the warmer climates of the tropical and subtropical dominating the grassland floras and biomass production.

Field experiment was carried out to assess suitable spacing and weed management practices under rainfed condition that can suppress weeds and enhance the growth of Barnyard millet (Echinochloa frumentaceae) during Rabi season of 2018 at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Killikulam, Tamil Nadu. Weed flora observed in experimental field consists of Echionocloacolonum under grasses, Cyperus rotundus under sedges and Amaranthus viridis, Boerhavia diffusa, Cleome viscosa, Commelina bengalensis, Phyllanthus niruri under Broad leaved weeds.
