Gravimetric method

The 2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (NA) was converted into the raw material N-benzyl-2-methyl-4-nitroaniline (BNA), and the solubility of BNA in various organic solvents was calculated gravimetrically. BNA’s solubility and crystal structure make it an excellent solvent for the low-temperature solution growth method used to create single crystals of BNA with orthorhombic structure studied through single crystal analysis.

Airborne pollen grains in Aydın, an important city for agriculture and tourism in the western part of Turkey, were studied for 2 years (2014 and 2015) using the volumetric method. During a 2-year study conducted in the city center, an average of 19,226 pollen grains belonging to 46 taxa were detected. Among these detected taxa, 29 (average 73.97%) belonged to arboreal plants and 17 (average 24.95%) to nonarboreal plants. The highest pollen concentrations belonged to Olea europaea (21.02%), Quercus (15.23%), Poaceae (11.89%), Pinaceae (11.47%), Cupressaceae/Taxaceae (11.11%), Platanus(4.

A series of 1-(4-(2-allylphenoxy)butyl)piperidin-1-ium halides (4a-d) was synthesized and characterized via spectroscopic methods (FTIR, 1H NMR). The corrosion inhibition of the synthesized halides on carbon steel in water-salt-hydrocarbon environment, saturated with H2S, was investigated. For this purpose, a series of techniques such as gravimetric measurement, potentiodynamic polarisation, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used and some thermodynamic parameters of corrosion process (∆Gads., ∆H0 ads., ∆S0ads.) were evaluated.

Two hundred and forty (240) numbers of day old broiler straight run chicks were wing banded, weighed and randomly allotted to 5 groups 6 replicates of eight chicks each based on the body weight. The performance and water use efficiency (WUE) of Chrysanthemum var. Marigold was evaluated under two moisture regimes, i.e., 100 % FC and 70 % FC imposed and maintained using gravimetric method. At 100 % FC, the plant height (30.33 cm), average plant spread (38.21 cm), number of primary branches/plant (5.67) and secondary branches/plant (4.67), number of leaves/plant (71.67), number of flowers/plant (136.75), average weight of individual flowers (7.21g), RWC (94.29%), root: shoot ratio (0.42), total fresh bio mass (153.09 g), flower yield (881.67 g / plant) and shelf life of 7.

Different methods of soil organic carbon (SOC) determination namely Walkley and Black (WB), Modified WB, Photometric, gravimetric and dry combustion methods were compared. Each method has its own advantages and limitations. Percentage of carbon recovered ranged from 51.03 to 110.13 and the calculated correction factor (CF) varied from 0.90 to 1.95. Highly significant correlation (r) was obtained among all the SOC methods. The highest and lowest coefficient of determination (R2 ) was found in Heanes photometric (0.91) and gravimetric methods (0.75), respectively.

The variability in water retention in soil is primarily attributable to soil texture which is mainly responsible for pore geometry and discontinuity, when compared to soil mineralogy. Under field conditions soil moisture variability is a major constraint for proper soil water management. In the present study, a pot experiment was conducted with an objective of assessing the effect of soil texture on moisture content and its depletion rate. For this purpose, the soils of seven variable textures were pre saturated and allowed to follow a drying period up to 15 days.

The production of natural latex is limited, and the related demand for terrestrial transportation has increased. The synthesis of rubber has become necessary and the resulting synthetics’ properties must be known. Thermooxidative degradation of synthetic rubbers 1,4- and 1,2-polybutadienes caused by heating the compounds at 100°C in the air, was monitored. The volatile compounds released during the degradation were identified using coupled modern physical methods, including NMR, TGA, MS, FTIR, etc.. Thermal gravimetric analysis showed that oxidation occurred for both 1,4 and 1,2-PB.

Porous hydroxyapatite ceramic was synthesized by solid phase method using Ca(OH)2 and Ca3(PO4)2 at the temperature interval 200 - 350o C. The samples, after pelleting and sintering, were characterized by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). Porous structure of hydroxyapatite was obtained with the 42 – 55% porosity.
