Green gram is used as one of the important source of protein along with other pulses. The potential yield is affected by many seed borne pathogen. Stored and freshly harvested green gram seeds from different places of Odisha were collected to study the association of different fungal pathogen. Five fungal pathogens i.e. Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium sp, Rhizoctonia sp and a sterile mycelium were found to be associated with seeds.

Food security tops the Government agenda as production stagnates and prices continue to be high. Pulses on account of their vital role in nutritional security and soil ameliorative properties have been an integral part of sustainable agriculture since ages. Presently, the pulses are grown in 23 million hectares with 13–15 million tonnes of production in the country.

Although Green gram is the third important pulse crop, it only covers 3.77 million ha land and having a production of 1.52 million tons which is very low compared to other crops. The pulse is widely used as a protein source and fodder crop. The area covered and production is low due to different factors i.e. unavailability of nutrient rich soil, lack of quality seeds, unsuitable climatic factors, traditional cultivation practices, improper weed management, poor postharvest management etc.

A screen house experiment was conducted to understand the influence of phosphorus and boron application on yield and enrichment of seed and straw of green gram. Five levels of phosphorus (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg kg-1 ) and 4 levels of boron (0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 mg kg-1 ) were applied in pots filled up with 4 kg light texture (sand) soil. Eight seeds of green gram were seeded in each pot and replicated thrice. The soil used in pot had pH 7.90, EC 0.17 dSm-1 , organic carbon 0.09%, DTPA Zn 0.36 mg kg-1 and hot water soluble B 0.5 mg kg-1 soil.
