-
Green gram (Vigna radiata L.) is one of the important pulse crops in India. It is widely cultivated throughout India in three different seasons. Eight genotypes of green gram viz, Pusa Vishal, PM-11-9, IPM-2-3, Meha (IPM 99-125), Samrat, IPM-512-1, TMB-37, SML-1822 were primed with GA3 and Ag-nanoparticle for six hours. The laboratory experiment was done in seed testing laboratory, BCKV, West Bengal during 2019 & 2020.

The farmers are using local cultivators ie Jhain Mung which gives poor yield. Generally the farmers are not adopting any nutrient and biofertilizer application and YMV is the major reason for poor yield in this area. As the crop is grown in residual soil moisture, the crop faces water stress condition many times. One of the major constraints of poor yield and spread of green gram, is the non-availability of suitable high yielding variety to replace the traditional varieties.

The present study was carried out in Navsari Agricultural University Navsari, Gujarat, India, intended to analyze the phytochemicals in leaf litter of Indian lilac (Melia azedarach L.) and to examine its allelopathic influence in leaf aqueous extract and leaf litter form on two pulse crops. The phytochemicals in leaf litter of Indian lilac were analyzed through Gas chromatography mass-spectrometry (GC-MS).

Green gram is a widely cultivated pulse crop rich in protein, essential amino acids and vitamin-B. The quality and quantity of DNA are very important for amplification by PCR. Although quantity of DNA required per reaction in PCR is very low, quality is very crucial. Also, to carry out large number of PCR reactions for genotyping, a good amount of DNA is required. Presence of contaminants like phenols makes it difficult to get good quality DNA from mungbean.

The present study was conducted to assess variability paramters for ten quantitative characters including seed yield per plant in mung bean utilizing thirty progenies of F4 population derived from two crosses viz., Meha x GJM-1006 (17 progenies) and Meha x GJM-1008 (13 progenies). Randomized Block Design with three replications was used and each genotype was planted on a spacing of 60 cm x 15 cm.

Experiments were carried out to determine the insecticidal activity of Aegle marmelos Correa against Callosobruchus chinensis L. in the laboratory. Plants were extracted with petroleum ether, methanol, ethanol and water by using Soxhlet apparatus and tested against adult of C. chinensis. Plant extracts were showed insecticidal activity by affecting through mortality, oviposition deterrence and inhibition of F1 adult emergence.

The green gram (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is one of the important pulse crop because of its adaptation to short growth duration, low water requirement, soil fertility and is favoured for consumption due to its easy digestibility and low production of flatulence (Shil and Bandopadhya, 2007).

Molecular characterization is helpful in understanding the phylogenetic relationship among various germplasm to reveal the genetic diversity among the used parental genotypes. Among several efficient methods for revealing genetic variability within and among plant populations, one of the most widely applied methods is ISSR marker analysis. ISSR, markers are commonly used because they are quick, simple and environment non-sensitive enabling genetic diversity analysis in several types of plant material like natural populations, population in breeding programmes.
