The present study was conducted to inspect the effect of Grewia optiva Drummond based traditional agrisilviculture system on productivity of Vigna mungo. The crown spread of trees and distance from tree trunk was considered for quantifying effect of integration on the crop growth and production. Radial transects at right angle to each other were drawn for studying various growth and yield parameters at 1m, half the crown radius, perimeter of crown radius and outside the canopy (control) by plotting quadrat of 1×1 m2.

Plants play an important role in mitigating air pollution. In such a scenario where problems due to air pollution are faced worldwide screening of sensitive and tolerant plants which acts as a bio indicator and sinks for air pollution is extremely significant.

To assess the mean performance and extent of genetic variability, 40 half sib progenies of Grewia optiva Drummnond were evaluated in randomized complete block design with three replications. The observations were recorded on various morphometeric and fodder quality parameters. The analysis of variance indicated highly significant differences among the various half sib families for all the traits studied. The experimental results revealed that out of 40 families ten families viz.

A field trial was established to study the effect of four spacing (8m×1m, 8m×2m, 8m×3m and open i.e. tree less area) of Grewia optiva trees, and eight manure doses treatment (T1 to T6 - 160 %, 140 %, 120 %, 100 %, 80 %, 60 % of recommended doses of nitrogen through vermicompost and poultry manure in 50-50 ratio respectively, T7- 100 % of recommended doses of NPK (chemical fertiliser) and T8- Control i.e. no manures and fertilisers) on growth and yield of bell pepper under agrisilviculture system.

Fodder shortage (quality as well as quantity) has been found throughout mid hills of Nepal. The tree fodder is particularly important as a green, nitrogen supplement to poor quality crop residues during the dry season when feeds are scarce. The nutritional values of fodders differ according to species and season therefore farmers prefer different species for different seasons to feed their livestock.
