Although significant efforts have been put into restituting the European bison (Bison bonasus) and increasing its population, it remains a globally endangered species and requires conservation. Protection programs of bison indicate the need for morphological studies of their individual systems, in order to enhance restitution programs and enable appropriate veterinary care.

The portal vein formed a guideline for passage of all vascular or nonvascular structures in the extra and intrahepatic regions of the liver. It was divided into caudate branch (Cb), right branch (Rb) and left branch (Lb). The caudate branch supplied entire caudate lobe and part of dorsal portion of the right lobe. The right inter lobar branch was divided into right dorsal and right ventral intralobar branches which supplied to respective regions of caudate lobe, right lobe and quadrate area.

Knowledge about the morphological adaptations of body and wing in birds helps to know about their aerodynamic performance. The present study was aimed to analyze the morphometry of the wing of the blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna) with reference to aerodynamics. Various aerodynamic measurements namely body weight, body length, wing span, wing area, wing load and aspect ratio were measured in three adult male birds. The wings were short, elliptical and rounded.

Morphological features are widely used in the study of neuronal function and pathology. Invertebrate neurons are often structurally stereotypical, showing little variance in gross spatial features but larger variance in their fine features. Such variability can be quantified using detailed spatial analysis, which however requires the morphologies to be registered to a common frame of reference.

The chick embryos of Namakkal chicken variety was collected sequentially from day 1 to day 20 and gross morphological developmental features were studied. On day one of development, head fold and neural fold were observed. From second to fifth day, gradual development of optic vesicle, limb, wing buds, circulation and body flexures were viewed. From day 6 to day 12, clear demarcation of toes, development of scales on the legs, feather germ development, formation of eyelid and its closure were observed. From 13th day to 20th day, growth of various developed body parts was noticed.

The current study was designed with the aim to study the gross morphological features of the sternum in four dead birds of Common Moorhen. The sternum gives attachment to important flight muscles in birds. The dorsal view of sternal body of Common Moorhen was roughly pyramidal. The average length of sternal body was 4.2 centimetres. Sternal keel was highly developed. The average height of sternum was 1.1 centimetres, whereas the curvature length of keel was 4.7 centimetres.

The present study was carried out on the third to fifteenth coccygeal vertebrae of six specimens of adult Blue bull (Boselaphus tragocamelus) of either sex. The Cy3-Cy6 presented complete arches and spinous processes. The transverse processes and cranial non-articular processes were present in Cy3-Cy6 and then reduced in caudal part of the series. The transverse processes were found to be plate like that were directed downward, backward and exceeded beyond the level of the posterior articular surface of the body in Cy3.

The present study was carried out on cornea of the Japanese quail. The cornea was the transparent, non-vascular structure and slightly curved front part of the eye and it covers the anterior chamber, iris and pupil in back side. The cornea was composed of anterior epithelium, bowman’s membrane, substantia propria, descemet’s membrane and posterior epithelium.

The gross morphological study on the scapula of Indian Wild cat revealed that it was flat and quadrangular bone with two surfaces, four borders and four angles. The scapular spine was well developed with increasing height distally and its termination in the acromian process. The acromian process was divided in to hamate and suprahamate process which were triangular and in the form of quadrilateral plate, respectively. The ratio of supra and infraspinous fossae was approximately 1:1. The subscapular fossa presented four ridges and the nutrient foramen was present near the scapular neck.

Present investigation was carried out on a single specimen of heart of yellow bellied sea snake, which accidentally came to the sea shore with the fisherman’s net. Since this snake is found in approximately 100m. deep sea thus not very common to cite and study. After the death this specimens was preserved in 10% neutral buffered formalin and observed for its morphology. The literature cited revealed that meager information was available on the anatomy of heart of this species of snake thus present study was planned on the gross anatomy of the heart of yellow bellied sea snake.

A study was conducted on the gross features of the splenchnocranium of an aged great Indian horned owl and its morphological peculiarities were correlated with its possible functions. The horizontal plate of ethmoid was wide and well developed. The lacrimal was very large and the lower orbital ring was incomplete. The external nares were oval in shape. The premaxilla was steeply curved down and had a hooked tip. The maxilla was highly reduced and formed a movable articulation with the palatine and zygomatic bone.

The os-coxae of flamingo and great Indian horned owl it consists of three bones namely ilium, ischium and pubis. In flamingo and great Indian horned owl, the ilium was elongated in shape and consisted of preacetabular and post acetabular parts. The preacetabular part of the ilium in both the species of the present study was quadrilateral in shape. The ischium was flat, almost triangular in outline and was situated ventral to the post acetabular part of the ilium in both species.

The objective of this study was to explore the gross morphological and histolmorphometric observations in the mammary gland of Boer graded local goats in India. The present study was conducted in adult lactating and nonlactating (n =6 each) Boer local she-goats. The mammary gland in both the group was a compound tubulo-alveolar gland surrounded by a connective tissue capsule. The alveoli were the principal secretory unit lined by simple cuboidal epithelium. In lactating animals, well developed alveoli, filled with secretions and lipid droplets were observed.

The present study attempts to analyze gross and microscopic changes in tissues and genotoxic assessment in bone marrow cells in ducks induced with aflatoxin B1.The study was carried out in 120 nos. of white Pekin ducklings. Ducklings were reared under standard managemental system with ad libitum feed and water etc. for a period of 8 thweeks.Aflatoxin B1 added to the feed with different proportion at the dose rate of 6ppb, 12ppb, 24 ppb, &48ppb through premix which were fed to the ducklings of Group 2, 3, 4, 5 respectively, after 3 days with Group 1 as control group.

The present work was carried out to study the patho-morphological and biochemical changes in experimentally induced Necrotic enteritis in broiler chicken. Two experimental groups T1 & T2 each comprising of 40 day old female broiler chicks, were fed with normal feed on day 1 to 16. On day17th, 18th, 19th and 20th, they were orally administered with Clostridium perfringens at the dose rate of 4X108 CFU per bird thrice a day along with 10 times the dose of Livacox vaccine on day18th then from day 21 to 42 normal feed was fed to both the groups.

This longitudinal case series study explores how students’ conceptions of ‘mental health nursing’ changed whilst on a three-year preregistration Mental Health Nursing programme. The study was carried out in two university nursing schools in the South East of England and this paper reports a detailed analysis of 6 individual case studies. The researchers utilised Novak’s approach to concept mapping to elicit students’ personal knowledge structures, which were explored further using semi-structured individual qualitative interviews.

Obesity is often accompanied by increased risk of metabolic disorders. Increased body and tissue weight is a hallmark of obesity. In the current study, we assessed if bitter melon extract supplement attenuated the high-fat diet induced obesity. Male Swiss mice fed a high-fat diet for 11 weeks parallelly with a bitter melon extract supplement via arbitrarily drinking and were compared with the nonsupplemented control group.
