Groundnut is an important food legume in several developing and developed countries. In India, Telangana state is one of the major groundnut growing states. A survey was conducted to collect a total of 72 groundnut pod samples at the time of harvesting from farmers and local markets in four districts, namely; Karimnagar, Warangal, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar during 2015-16.

The laboratory experiment was conducted during 2017-18 to know the effect of provenance and seed treatments on occurrence of seed borne diseases and storability of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). Groundnut varieties viz., TAG-24, G2-52, collected from different locations of Bagalkot, Dharwad and Belagavi districts, collected seed samples was stored in HDPE bags in Department of Seed Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, Vijayapur. The study exhibited that the untreated seeds lost its viability at a faster rate than the treated seeds.

Groundnut (Arachis hypogea L.,) is one of the world’s important crops, ranking fifth in oil production. Groundnut seed is a rich food source providing quality vegetable oil (48%-50%), protein (26%-28%), dietary fibre, minerals and vitamins. Total world production of Groundnut was 47 million tonnes from 27 million hectares. In Andhra Pradesh Groundnut is cultivated in 7.35 lakh hectares with 10.43 lakh tonnes production and 1426 kg/ha productivity. The Groundnut area of YSR district is decreasing and same trend reflected in production and productivity also.

A study was conducted to assess impact of KVK interventions in adopted villages of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kalikiri. The objective of the study was to ascertain knowledge and adoption level of specific crop technologies assessed/demonstrated through various interventions during 2016-17 to 2018-19 by KVK. Adopted cluster villages Addavaripalli, Mittapalli and Balamvaripalli were taken for study and 20 beneficiary farmers were selected randomly from each cluster. The data were collected through personal interview schedule.

During storage, peanut seeds face many problems including deterioration that creates favorable conditions for mold growth and mycotoxin production. This study describes the diversity of molds responsible for groundnut rot during commercialized in the city markets of Douala-Cameroon. Peanut samples were collected in a ten markets in the city of Douala. It has been noted that the postharvest fungal flora of groundnuts in the city of Douala is composed of various genre of molds.
