The present study was carried out on characterization of surface water and groundwater reservoirs in Merched village near Raichur city in Karnataka. Surface water samples were collected from different locations of the Merched tank and groundwater samples were collected from the bore wells, hand pumps located at the command area of Merched tank during 2018-2019 in monsoon and post monsoon season.

Groundwater is one of the crucial natural resources which meets the requirement of drinking as well as for irrigation. Increasing population, erratic distribution of rainfall and their rising demand for water in domestic and irrigation is fulfilled by groundwater resources. Hence, a geo-spatial study was conducted for groundwater sampling for water quality assessment to determine the suitability of water for drinking and irrigation purpose. For this study, five villages around AEC & RI, Kumulur, Trichy, Tamil Nadu were selected as a study area with an aerial extent of 45.1 km2 .

Artificial recharge is a technique used to replenish the groundwater resources which exploited by pumping for irrigation and drinking purpose. An artificial recharge structures are practiced in the hard rock regions of Tamil Nadu for groundwater restoration and management.The effectiveness of recharge structures in improving the recharge process has been evaluated for different recharge structures, namely, check dams, recharge shaft in percolation pond and recharge borewell.

This paper is about the impact of climate change on water resources, mainly focusing upon the consequences of climate change on Ladakh people based on both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Inadequacy of water resources, irregular rainfall pattern and coping up under such scared water consequences are the major problems in the study area. The main sources of water are glaciers, hand pump, stream and springs.

The current water shortage in Egypt is 13.5 Billion cubic meter per year (BCM/yr) and is expected to continuously increase. Currently, this water shortage is compensated by drainage reuse which consequently deteriorates the water quality. Therefore, this research was commenced with the objective of assessing different scenarios for 2025 using the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) model and by implementing different water sufficiency measures. Field data were assembled and analyzed, and different planning alternatives were proposed and tested in order to design three future scenarios.

The smaller time step, the more accurate WL results, however the improvement is hard to be more than 1cm. Some recommendations on aquifer parameter calibration, aquifer parameter determination by numerical modeling from monitoring WL and pumping test data, GW modeling for foundation seepage deformation have been proposed for required accuracy of the GW modeling for practical water resources and engineering purposes.
